Pretty spot on. Camaro is more track focused and has nicer interior.

GT350R is the better daily driver.

What would be awesome is if GM gave a less aggressive spring option while still keeping those trick shocks for those who don't track often.

Hell, I would even pay for the upgrade DSSV shocks on my SS 1LE if there was some street friendly spring options.

What do you think you'd gain?

The magnetic dampers are pretty amazing and very dual purpose, but I would imagine what you would gain are shocks that are quicker reacting (like a top notch coilover) when really hustling the car on crappy roads.

The feel of going balls out and being in complete control and having that luxury RIGHT NOW rebound composure that you get from a quality coilover that feels better and better as the speed increases.

So you pair that "feel" of those shocks with a more street friendly spring rate and it would be sublime.

Again, not that the magnetic dampers are not great, they are, but coming from Ohlins on my M3 (which did suck on the low speed stuff) but came alive the faster you went. I imagine that is what the DSSV shocks feel like.

Probably not worth the cost for most, but I have a ver emotional connection with the cars I buy and I am always searching for that sublime suspension feel. I just can't afford a 6 figure car to get it. LOL

Why not just buy a ZL1?

I really gotta drive a ZL1 1LE one of these days just to see how "rough" the ride is. I really don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be. Kinda like how the blind spots get exaggerated. My Hellcat has Street, Sport, and Track modes for the suspension. Track mode is downright rough. So I don't use it often. If that was the only mode it came with then I could live with it. I change it because I have that option. So I think I could live with the ZL1 1LE.

Another thing, as far as these two cars are concerned, it seems that more of the Mustang guys (Shelby owners in particular) are switching to the ZL1 as opposed to the other way around. That is just something that came to my mind when I saw the guys switching cars.

As far as which one is easier to DD. Well I personally prefer the HP and TQ! So I'd pick the ZL1 hands down over the Shelby even if the ride is rough. I can always adjust the suspension if I want. That performance advantage tho...I could never pick a Voodoo engine over the LT4.

Its really over blown how stiff the ZL1-1lE is. Yes its stiffer than your average car, but you're not leaving it with bumps, bruises, and a migraine.

If I was inclined to do so, I could daily the 1LE - the tires would be the only thing that need changing if you want to daily it.

X3... and I don't need cooled seats on the track and lets turn this rev match thing off.

It was a good video though.

I own both. They are both great cars. People that think the 1LE has "too rough" of a ride are simply pussies, end of story.

Sadly... The review is of two cars more track purposed, yet reviewed on street use. (In that respect review the GT350 v ZL1). I'm sorry but, main use as back and forth to work and car shows is a waste of any performance car.

^ on point! Hello. No different than talking about how rough driving a F350 or Chevy 3500 is compared to a 1500. They're made for different purposes.

What I see is the majority talking don’t own the car or driven it. Yet go with what the magazines say.
