Funny answer... I didn't get any sleep last night. I stayed in a hotel and the loud air conditioner kept me awake. I was really tired and just wasn't feeling it today so I stayed in Sport 1 for a little extra insurance.
I think it is an excellent answer and a great decision!!!
Hope others are reading this

PS The car has 52s in it for sure Unsure if you know it, but access to full motor power is only available in Race and all off. Sport 2 offers no Stabilitrak just like Race, but not full power and more TC intervention on exits. Play safe and have fun! I have a good track friend that runs Pitt Race as his home track in a time attack prepped C5Z. The venue is on my list next year!

Ha, yeah, the car is just epic at the Glen. Though when I watch that lap, I find tons of time on the table still! I overbrake for T5 (outer loop), the cone @ the apex of T9 cost me by making me take a loopy line, then I'm 5-7 mph down on my normal minimum for T10. That being said, its a damn solid lap. Getting better/faster is what keeps me coming back!
Seconding TrackClub's comment about the lap on slicks - looks FUN!! I was just at the Glen this past weekend and managed to drop my PB by nearly a second to 2:10.35 on the stock setup! Will get the video sorted and post an official entry here soon.

Thanks man! The car has more in it for sure. With some more seat time at WGI, I can definitely see a sub-2:10 time with the stock setup. I really am so incredibly impressed at what GM accomplished with the 6th gen. And it's so damn fun to drive.

just likes to eat tires 2 much pls give us smaller wheels GM :(

Congrats! yeah, I'd guess the car can run a 2:08 stock.

The PZero slicks are not 6 seconds per lap faster than my car on RS4's... I just prioitized my limited time @ the glen on Pzero's over street tires- (my session this year on RS4's was my 3rd ever dry session @ WGI).

The actual delta is likely more like 3-4 seconds. That's what I saw @ VIR (almost idential lap times to WGI). I have a goal for next year @ WGI!

Makes sense...that's the delta I'd expect. I have 2 friends with modified suspension 991 GT3s on Hoosiers that run 2:01-2:03 and another with a modified GT4 on slicks at ~2:03 as well. All of them in the instructor group. It's just epic that the Camaro can pretty much hang with that at a fraction of the cost lol.

What alignment specs are you running with the slicks?

Exactly. A well driven SS 1LE can run with almost anything on track.

Just had my car's alignment refreshed before IMS last week and it felt great.

Front:
-3.0 camber, .08 total toe OUT
Rear:
-1.8 camber, .11 total toe IN

Very nice. I'm hesitant to grind the OEM struts so I can squeeze more camber out of the front but the car could really benefit from it. :(

I'm at -2.5* F and my first set of tires corded on the inside of the front right tire, but that may have been the slight toe out I had + I never rotated tires left/right. For this season I've been trying 0 toe in the front and switching sides after each day at a track. My rears seem to be wearing fine @ -2* and 0.12 total toe in. Seems OK for now Thanks for sharing.

Running 2.6F 1.6R with .10 toe out F
And .20 toe in R
This camber works quite well for stock tires imo.
Cup2s would have benefited from more F camber as i corded outside front badly, yet RE71R almost corded on the inside. The stockers seems to wear rather evenly tho without frequent swapping.

Love those tires especially given their price point

Wanted toe adjusted to zero F and less in the rear this season, but my mechanic has been too damn busy...
Cant complain too much as i am improving on my pace vs last year. Plus i am an old f@#ker as Carlin would say

Today at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada - my fave venue bar none. Improved my previous PB done in a C5Z 2 yrs ago to: 1:54.41 (by half a second).
2017 SS 1LE all stocks except for the alignment.
This car continues to amaze me and the others who run against it LCMT is a long hike but so worth it!
Left my SD card at home so just my Solo shot here:

Eric - Fantastic lap - even more impressive with the limited experience you have there!
