I figured I'd post this over here, too. I saw a new owner talking about how much better a stock SS 1LE was than his prior BMW track cars.
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...2#post10254142 I chimed in that I have been asked so many times by Porsche, BMW, Corvette, Mustang, etc. drivers that I have passed: "How do you like your ZL1?" They always get hurt more when I tell them "It's not a ZL1. It's just a SS 1LE." My sons and friends have seen it enough that's it's been a bit of an inside joke. So, MYPLATES for Texas allows you to order a custom plate up to seven digits. You can't run it on the car on the street without having it VIN assigned - which I don't yet as it's a bit more bragging than I want on the car all the time. However, at the track, it's kind of funny - to me. I've only towed the 1LE once. It's a tight fit but works and I can open the drivers door too with my custom axles and escape door I ordered years ago for my (former) low drag cars. Thought you guys would like the license plate. If / when I upgrade to a ZL1 1LE, I have a different custom plate waiting for it... |

As for RS4 vs. RE71R: RE71R on a single quali lap might have a slight pace advantage, but I like the RS4 better overall. The RS4 was clearly developed for track days. They don't overheat during a session and grip VERY well. RS4's matched my 1:39's on RE71R's @ Mid Ohio, and dipped into the 2:10's easy @ the Glen. It's friction circle is fantastic, they communicate very well, and when they slide they do so gradually and recover quickly. Biggest plus is the wear!!! Holy Cow. 3 days @ Mid Ohio, 2 days @ Grattan, 1/2 day @ Watkins Glen, 1 day @ NCM... and they look like they've seen 1 day on track. 75%+ life left. Plus being mounted on square wheels... I can rotate corner to corner to maximize tire life. I'm extremely happy with the wheel/tire package. |

No prob! Great laps, NJMP certainly looks like an awesome track!
I'd recommend trying PTM in race if I were you. You can hear PTM pulling timing very frequently when the car is perfectly stable on corner exit, I think the PZero's DH's capability slightly exceed the PTM Sport 1 or 2's program's parameters. PTM Race still works great with the Pzero's. |

Is it possible to fit four tires into a Camaro to bring to track?

oh nice. i'm thinking of getting rid of my F80 M3 around Christmas for a 2019 1LE as my four year warranty expires in March.
it's good for street/track, but i want something better for track. only ran 2:17 at WGI last week with SCDA after two dry days of lapping. my lines were good but i think i was power limited due to DSC/MDM intervention out of turns, and the stock suspension on this car is very unsettling through the esses.. should have ran with DSC off but I was on nearly done NT01s so i wanted to avoid the risk. i think i'll give WGI another shot before getting rid of this car, however. |
