Door lock question

I hope this isn't a dumb question, I thought I looked everywhere for the answer. Is there was way to extend the time your doors lock after shutting off and exiting the car? I'm not exactly the quickest on my feet and it's annoying that if I have to get something out of the passenger front seat the doors lock by the time I walk around...I swear there was a setting to change it but apparently I'm on crack and imagining things lol

Can't you just hit the lock button after you've got everything you need out of the car?

If you're hitting the lock button on car, I think I remember seeing in the vehicle setting you could delay it. Still not sure that would give you enough time to go around the vehicle and get your items.

I think you're misunderstanding. The doors lock I think 5 seconds(not sure) after shutting them...I was asking if there was a setting I'm missing that can delay that. I couldn't find it(not sure if it's something you can change).

I guess I am misunderstanding. I have a 2017 1SS and the doors don't lock after 5 seconds.

You can enable it through the MyLink screen, not sure if it's available on a 1SS though.

I’m curious about this too. I find myself sometimes walking to the passenger side (Open the door for her Gentleman) but it auto locks just a couple seconds too fast for me.

It's the Passive Door Lock option. Turn it off and the doors will not auto lock.
No way to extend it though.

You can temporarily disable the passive door lock. There is some information in the manual about it.

I don't really get why this is an issue. When you walk to the passenger side, if the door locks, just hit the button on the handle to unlock the passenger side. You have to reach for the handle anyway, it doesn't take any time...

I thought it was the distance you are from the car (10 feet?), rather than time... as you walk a way it lock as you get to the set amount of distance between the car & the fob.

My car came set up that the horn would honk when the doors passive locked, And, I hated it. I went to change it to just headlight flash and found "turn off passive locks" Damn thats way more better

Doesn't really matter why you don't get why it's an issue, I was asking if there was a setting I was missing to extend it. It's annoying reaching to open the door just as it locks that's all. Thanks for your contribution though
