I get this among the other compliments/comments on my car. It's all based on personal preference, and rarely on experience. I'll tell you like I tell everyone else, I bought my car for me. I didn't buy it because I'm trying to be cool or be in the "in" crowd. I spent a lot of my very limited time researching what various cars could do (370z, various mustangs, challengers, etc) before landing my decision firmly with the alpha platform.
I'm assuming you bought your car for the same reason. Everyone picks their drivetrain for certain reasons. I can completely see why the 4 cyl or 6 cyl version suits people better, for whatever reason. If someone says your car sucks, be the better person and don't step into their argument. Never argue with a fool, the spectators can't tell the difference. |

Why i like wearing the "Run Your Car Not Your Mouth." t-shirt to track days or cars and coffee events.

I bought my car for one simple reason - I love it. In fact, it was love at first test drive. Never having had experience with a 4 cylinder Camaro I did like so many do - I test drove it. I also test drove the V6. Then after having test driven both my decision was easy.
The 6 cylinder was fine, it has power, but when I felt the 4 cylinder turbo kick in, the rest was history. Also, when I considered that I planned on taking some long cruises, 30+ mpg was a side benefit. OK, I will try very hard not to get upset the next time someone says to me "4 cylinders in a Camaro...." It's almost like someone disrespecting your wife or girlfriend, but since I no longer race, I will just ignore the remark and love my Camaro! btw, I am back in a Camaro after a 25 year hiatus. My last Camaro was a 1985 Z28 and all I can say is that this is one sweet ride. I have never enjoyed driving a car as much as I enjoy this one. Thanks guys! |

It sorta does, for as impractical as it is.. it needs impractical engine to match blown v8.. minimum! Wiser person woudl choose turbo 4 1LE, but it doesn't have fun aero bits from ZL1.. or that face!

You can get those crazy good looking ZL1 parts aftermarlet at a fraction of the price. There is no wrong car to pick the sooner dumbasses figure that out the better. The 4 Cyl. 1LE or not is an incredibly versatile car on any course. The V6 is an awesome car and if you go supercharger it's insane done right. I can't say enough about an NA V8 or a blown V8 but if i hear much more shoulda got a V8 or doesn't compare I'm gonna be sick because we have 4 cyl turbo camaros in the mid 12s with basic bolt-ons and a tune on stock 18" runflats. For less then the cost of a V8 which with practice is a mid-low 12s car. On a road course we haven't had a real head to head comparison done by reputable non car and driver, motor trend biased shows.

I have a 1SS 1LE and I track it. I'd have just as much fun in a 2.0 1LE, maybe more.

I get the OP.. yes you can tell people to ignore the comments, etc.. but it will get to you.
Imagine if you go to work and people are making fun of you for your height, weight, etc.. you can try to block it off as much as you can but it will still bother you. I would try to interact more with I6/V6 owners on forums, social media etc... there will ALWAYS be the guys who will say "Should have gotten the V8" and will show no love to anything less than a V8. Although I never drove the turbo Camaro I drove a Mustang Ecoboost in the past and I love the damn thing.. fun as hell for a daily driver. But boy did the V6's/Eco's get shit on by the 5.0 guys. Don't play into their hands and try to race, you'll never win in the end. Enjoy the car, the turbo Camaro will def make a fun car to drive and beat on while getting great MPG's |

Multiple people, in the same thread, on the same topic, with the same car, with a similar opinion strikes you as ironic?
