You might want to wonder why its been sitting there a yr???????Should tell you something....

The ZL1 with a Supercharged + Forged engine is a much better modder car. If you wanted more than 750 RWHP in a GS you'd be looking at pistons/rods/crank whereas the LT4 can handle 1000-1100 HP without breaking too big of a sweat. If you're going for an all in build, then the Vette takes the lead anyway. The lighter weight advantage does make a noticeable difference when you really get cooking.
Then get it for him. Share ride it.

I really appreciate everyone’s thoughts on the matter, thank you.
I just found a beautiful Sebring orange Z06 that has my name on it. The color isn’t for everyone but with this car and the aggressive of it , it looks great.

I had a 2014 Z51 Stingray. I fully intended to step up to a Z06 when they released. I eventually sold my Stingray, got a Hellcat, and then moved to the ZL1. The ZL1 made me totally nix the idea of getting a Z06. The fact that the A10 was new and exciting and it had the exact same engine pulled me in. Unless one is going for a manual, the Z06 being stuck with the A8 is kind of a deal breaker to me now also, after experiencing the A10. The Vettes are still one of my favorite cars, but it's crazy how much of a run for the money the Camaros are giving them right now.

Manual's for me only. I just can't buy a sports car with a automatic. But that's just me!

I think that great trade in price is because some $$ are coming out of the Corvette to make you feel better about the trade. Corvettes depreciate even faster than Camaros so you are looking at the same trade in value next year for the Corvette. But if you have the $$ to flush, do it and enjoy life with no regrets.

And I was a dedicated manuals only guy until this A10. I do miss shifting sometimes, but now I am a convert.

I was the other way around. I got rid of my Z06 to get a Zl1. I know. Crazy. But, I wanted the Zl1 that bad.

The ZL1 is less twitchy in the rear-end than the Z06 right? More stable/composed and confident feeling?

I say get the car you want as long as your not comprimising anything. A GS is a no go. Not even in the same field. ZL1, ZO6, or ZR1 are the way to go. The camaro is less expensive but not cheap by any means.

I've gotten out of one and jumped into the other and the Z06 is definitely a scarier car but not in the way the magazines portray it. The ZL1 is brutally fast, it handles awesome and the brakes are right up there with them all. But the Z06 does everything the ZL1 does just a little bit better and that's what's scarier about it. It goes faster in a straight line, launches harder, handles better, flicks easier, and is more nimble. In the ZL1 you feel like you can push it harder on the entrance ramp before you're going to lose control. The Z06 you probably are going faster but you don't feel like you're pushing the car, once you really do push it, the speed and rate that everything is happening is what contributes to the scariness. At least for me. I'm not afraid of any car I've driven. I respect the power, but I'm not afraid to hammer it or push them as hard as I can in Mexico/back roads/safe environments. For me, the Z06 is just as stable, if not more so, and is definitely the "quicker" car.

I love both, but if I had to have just one, the Z06 would be in the garage. There's no question the A10 is superior to the A8, but the A8 isn't far behind. It shifts just as fast (to the point of it mattering), left to it's own devices in D, it is extremely capable. Can't go wrong with either. If you really want a tie breaker then do it like this: If you want an Automatic, get the A10 ZL1. If you want a manual, get an M7 C7 Z06.

Would you choose the Z06 over the ZL1 1LE?

Me personally, yes. But that's because I value a street machine a little more. If I was tracking, and only had the choice between a Z06 or ZLE, then I'd go with a ZLE because it is more or less "built" for it. But in reality if one wanted a track car, the lighter the starting weight the better. A C6 Z06 + Race pads/rotors/tires/valved shock will out pace most any Camaro anyway and it's $30k-$35k and more or less 3100-3200 pounds. I'm actually looking to do one soon. Just doesn't make sense to handicap yourself on the track by starting with 4000 pounds of weight. Tires, brake pads, rotors, suspension parts, engine, trans, clutch etc. all wears faster with a heavier car.

I had a C6 Z06, pretty amazing car, minus the value guide and head issues. Mine ghosted me with 11K miles on it. Lemon lawed it.
