You'll need to remove the factory clamp and use the Borla provided one in its place.

Which install are you asking about? I just had Steve at RPD install my 60606. I can answer questions ref that part.

If anyone is looking to go this route. There is a 3rd install option. Instead of trying to weld it or using the long sleeve type clamp. You can use a exhaust pipe expander to flare the factory pipe after you make the cut. Then slip the Borla 60606 into the expanded section and use a normal exhaust clamp.

60663 front pipes that bypass the secondary cats. My question was whether they will clamp to the stock exhaust pipes using the collar clamps.

Correct but I was referring to the other end where the pipes would collar clamp to the stock pipes

Decibel level difference (Before & After)

Maybe this has been done but I just wanted to share these 4 screenshots. (Focus on the top left number)

Mike to be honest I was impatient waiting for the less expensive option and got the 60606, so I haven't done this install with 60663.

It may require a little more Yankee ingenuity or even welding instead of clamps to be accomplished easily. Another thought is to look for a shorter (less wide) band clamp (the example given is 3.5") and keep in mind you can slide it in either direction- it doesn't have to centered over the cut. As long you can get 1" of the stock pipe clamped you should be fine.

BTW- its always been my experience that 35lb/ft of torque is perfect for clamping exhaust pipes, IMHO.

Good luck and have fun! From what you've said it should be doable!

Which Borla system were these decibel levels taken from? Also what was your RPM when recording them?

Idea #3 or so... if necessary, you could cut 1 to 2" off the ends of Borla's cat delete pipe to create a comfortable amount of pipe to use the "collar clamps" on. Exhaust gases don't care if they're passing thru stock or aftermarket 2.75" pipes.

Since the 60663 is just one piece and you can see at what point it terminates, it should be easy to estimate a pretty precise cut for the length.
I've had very good luck with making clean, straight cuts using a cheap reciprocating saw with a good metal cutting blade while using a 4" metal hose clamp (the kind you tighten with a screw driver) as a guide to keep me on track.

Like I said, have fun! you'll love the results.

is not Borla, is the stock NPP exhaust with second cat delete.

So regarding the decibel levels- was this in Track mode?

It would interesting to see the cold start readings in each mode. My ears told me the difference was big... but man, I really gotta remember to keep putting mine in Stealth before early morning start-ups!

With the eBay 15% off today I'm really tempted to get the 60606 setup.

So you only did the secondary cat pipe by itself?

I would assume the Borla 60606 would be even louder since there system replaced the factory X pipes and the crush pipes. The 60606 is wide open all the way to the factory axle back.
