This is a bit of a stab in the dark, as I have the SS and don't know how severe the dip is in your case, but I recall a thread here about the LT4 wire harness rubbing and temporarily shorting wires, which may cause intermittent power reduction at high RPM's. There is an associated TSB as well. Still searching for the thread, perhaps someone with a ZL1 can beat me to it.

I did a little some more testing on this yesterday and I think I narrowed it down to being in manual mode. I don't think it dips in power when leaving it in D. I will do more testing though. I think it's TQ management. I will try different gas next go round as well.

I noticed the exact same thing today coming home from work. I was downshifting with the paddles to pass cars in 3rd and it almost seemed like it skipped a tooth in the rear end. Of course, that’s not the case and there was no noise associated, that is just the best way I can explain the feeling. I pushed the shifter back over to “D” and it wouldn’t do it again. Strange.

No felt power dips here, or on the dyno graph......outside of the car going into cat over temp and going extra rich.

Mine has done this 1 time on the 3-4 shift at the track. I am almost sure it has something to do with the factory PTM that is causing it to pull power for that split second.

Mine does this on long freeway pulls usually in 3rd or 4th gear. it feels like a hiccup from timing being pulled or Torque management or traction control. Its usually when its seen a pull or 2 before and its seeing warmer IAT's.
I chalk it up to a combination of crappy 91 fuel in CA and extra heat from performance driving. |
