Can I get custom made mid pipes??

Hi, I’m trying to get some mid pipes for my 2016 A8 ss.
Or should I buy some from borla?
I have an mbrp axle back but I want it louder and more aggressive. Any suggestions on what I can do or should I buy a cat back system?

I was looking into this for my A8 2ss as well but MBRP told me the catbacks are designed for manuals only and install at your own risk (obviously with any).
id go with borla 60606 , not 100% if the mid would directly mate to the axle back but from others ive seen they sound decent.

im yet to see a system that isn't on the raspy side though.

I believe your two main options are Borla and Flowmaster. You can't go wrong with either one. The Flowmasters are cheaper than the Borla by a decent margin. The Borla can potentially include a secondary cat delete as well so if you're looking for loud it takes it a step further than the flowmaster. BUT the flowmaster is 3" piping. IMO you can't go wrong with either.

Going custom will be difficult since there's AFM modules/valve to consider as well.

Will I be able to keep the AFM valves with that system?

If I go custom, could I just buy some AFM adapters and put them on?

Are there any reviews out on that speed engineering kit? Seems super cheap and that makes me a little nervous.

I will let you know in a couple of days. Hooking up my looks 2” headers to the speed engineering x pipe to the factory npp. To me the speed engineering x pipe isn’t super cheap..... everything else is just super expensive. It’s just an x pipe...

You can also have some made, I had some made years back out of aluminum. From the headers back everything was aluminum minus the mufflers.

I asked the company, there system is a full system that works with their headers. They haven't tried to mate their system to the stock headers, and they don't have an xpipe option

I'm relatively happy with mine. I hooked them to my kooks LTs. I had to chop my kooks off-road connection pipes, and a little bit of the SE xpipe leads. Just take your time so you have plenty of clearance around the trans. My only real complaint is they don't bend upwards towards the tunnel like oem exhaust does. The rear tunnel brace that takes 5 bolts won't go on mine without spacers but it's not a big deal to me. I have a custom axleback so that portion wasn't an issue for me.

You may want to consider this thread:

You could delete your AFM valves like this and throw in any X pipe for a far cheaper cost with no CEL. But it'll sound like ass once it kicks into V4 mode. Just throwing out options for you.

We offer our Scavenger Series X-Pipe Kit that is manufactured from 409S stainless steel and includes our Active Fuel Management valves for cylinder deactivation mode when cruising at highway speeds. When paired with any of our Flowmaster Axle-back systems you'll get all the performance benefits of a full Cat-back system. Our X-Pipe kit is designed to be used in conjunction with our Axle-back systems (as well as those offered by Hurst, see below) so I cannot guarantee fitment if attempting to add to your current Axle-back. I have included 2 links below. The first is for our Flowmaster Exhaust and Intake options for your Camaro. The second link is for our sister company Hurst where there's currently some good exhaust options that are on clearance. Please feel free to PM me or give us a call at 707-544-4761 to discuss which exhaust option is best for your ride.
