WHAAAAT!!! I have 9,300 miles and the wear bars are up. I'd be happy with 12K.

To me the $6k difference between a 1SS and a 1LE is worth more than the $6k difference between the 1SS and 2SS.
*I know the 1LE is $7k and the 2SS is $5k but we are just splitting hairs at that point with other option packages people usually get with their car. |

I just picked up a 2018 1SS 1LE yesterday. Was waiting on the sidelines to see what 2019 brings and GM made the decision easy with that frontend.
The features I needed from the 2SS were included on the 1LE package so it was just about buying a 2SS with NPP and magneride vs 1SS with 1LE. The extras I got with the 1LE package at this price point just made more sense to ME over the creative comforts of the 2SS. Only thing I miss is the blind spot monitor on my car. I don't care about dual zone climate control, Bose music system, heated seats or the memory settings. Instead I chose to pay for the goodies that enhance my driving experience, even if I won't be anywhere close to what the car can handle. |

For me the 1LE has a great balance of performance, handling, and looks from my perspective. I collect vehicles and the car has become my DD, replacing a Focus RS and Cayman GT4 combo. Each has their positives and negatives, but you can’t beat the 1LE for grins/$ and consistent performance.
Best option package I have ever purchased. |

If I was not tracking my car I would not get a 1LE, the handling and braking upgrades are a waste if you don't extract their performance. And you can't even get close to the SS limits on the public roads anyway.
The 1LE is a LOT stiffer and the tires are much noisier, more expensive, and wear out quickly. The tires will fling rocks everywhere. You don't need the eLSD, cooling upgrades, or BBK if you don't track the car. Then again, if I didn't track my car, I wouldn't buy a fast sports car at all, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Slow and light cars are more fun on public roads. |

Get the 1LE. Even if you dont track it, the performance is insane for the price and it looks better too. I had a 2ss with upgraded tires and on public roads I could never reach the cars limits in the corners and the 1LE is even faster. So even though the 1LE is probably overkill for the public roads, I'd get the 1LE for sure if I did it again. If you are a car enthusiast get the 1LE. People who know performance cars, respect the 1LE. 2ss not so much....

I find that noise of all the little pebbles and picked up sand hitting the wheel well liners soothing. It is like one of those rainfall or waterfall relaxation recordings
![]() But yes - there is no free lunch. The 1LE is a little too stiff on bad roads. On good pavement, I actually prefer it to more softly sprung vehicles (SS, Mustang GT, etc) - it is less floaty and moves less under undulations. |

Pros and cons 1LE
Do NOT let concerns about maintaining the hood wrap dissuade you from getting a 1LE. It is VERY simple. Chemical Brothers and Adams both make products for it that are great. The plain Adams detail spray works great. I use Ultima spray on a damp hood and it looks great. The hood wrap maintenance should be the last of your concerns. Enjoy, Peter
