It is the steep street / parking garage curbs that are the most worrisome.

Back up into a parking spot. Other wise, I pull up short, usually I won't stick out further then a truck or a full size SUV. If the parking lines are long, I put it into reverse to turn on the backup camera, then line up the rear with the back of the lines.

I always back into spots, garage has a little parking helper stand for me to tap if I get a bit too close and it lights up,plus some soft cushy cardboard boxes beyond the helper in case I’m extra dumb that day
