Isn't that how the Z/28 reveal went IIRC? The face lift was shown on GMA and then little later bam Z/28

+1.

And to get the visibility enhancing rear view tech, you have to get a 2SS

Refresh is made to sell to non-enthusiasts. Mustang did the same shit with the S550 and their sales skyrocketed, but they were related to the I4 and v6. Your average car consumer found the sleeker, less aggressive look attractive. I'd bet money that's what GM is going for here since the refresh is much more docile AND they're introducing an I4. Should boost sales along with all the hype the gen6 has generated since its release.

I don't remember a single person saying the new Transformers Bumblebee car looked good when it came out, but that's the direction this is headed in.
We live in a cartoon like society today of Fake news, Politically Correctness, twisting the truth etc. Not like 1950s or 60s when people used imagination to design. Now cars are designed in a wind tunnel to squeeze out power and MPG. I'm thinking that new grill on the SS will provide more direct air into the intake though, may eliminate the need for an after market CAI.

Another thought.... this front end belongs on a RWD Sedan to compete with the Charger, since it (along with the TF5 Camaro) was an aping of the Charger RT.

There is talk that they are putting the Corvette 7 speed tranny in it. What a piece of shit tranny, the Tremec 6070. I had a 2016 Vette, traded it for my Camaro because of the tranny, filed a Lemon Law suit and proved thru GM bulletins that there was an issue with it in cold weather. Got a nice check and dumped the car.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking about. Could be a Z/28 or a ZL1 1LE Carbon package, like the mule we saw with carbon rotors.

[QUOTE=Jamal;10140267]I think looks wise this is a pretty big change for just a refresh. It almost seems like a completely new generation camaro. Can't really say much about it as seeing it in person is always a completely different experience than looking at an image online. What does everyone think about the refresh, are they doing too much here or moving in the right direction?[/QUOT

It looks more like a regression, an attempt to return to the Gen 5 design with the two taillights and the front grill. But why? It's lost the mean, angry, sinister look from the front and the taillights appear to be done just to change things. Personally I like the blacked out/darkened taillight assembly of the Gen 6 better; but that change doesn't bother me much. However, the new grill? No. Don't like at all.

Yeah, I totally see that as well. I can't stop thinking Spiderman when I see it as well. I think some of this is cheapening of the car to produce as well. They're talking price cuts too I remember reading.

Barf. Glad I ordered a 2018 and didn't hold off any longer. Would have had to buy a Mustang if this was the only Camaro option available lol

There will be, some sort of press conference or mini-event of some sort this week most likely, just like they did with the Hot Wheels edition reveal a few months back.
