I think the GT500 looks nice. I guess we really are car geeks , in the absence of any Camaro news we talk about anything from an Audi to a Ford. Lol

The 1LE is epic for now until the next wave of hi-perf models are released. Only time will tell, but based on spy shots they have been bench marking the GT500 against the ZL1 and a Porsche so the performance will be there.

Yeah i am sure the performance level will be there but ZL1/1LE has been there for the last two years ,by the time the GT500 comes out Camaro will have something better .Then those ford engineers will be playing catchup once again.

The big Grill looks a lot better than the standard GT grill. I like it. Takes away from the slopey droopy nose.

The 5th Gen SS 1le Zl1 set the standard for modern muscle , if it wasn't for the 5th gen the Mustang GT would still be driving around with 315 HP and solid rear axle, and would never see Brembo brakes on anything less the a dealer inflated Shelby . As of now Mustang has a lot of catching up to do , i doubt the new mustang with pp1 could beat a Gen 5 1le around a track.

Didn't Coyote development begin in '07?

Anyway, speaking of powerplants, have we heard anything on updates to LT1? I know the L86's are recieving updates, but I can't recall if those were to be incorporated to LT1's.

Or will these updates result in a potential LT2?

Yes, because GM introduced a 2006 Camaro concept with a 400HP LS2 engine that looked like it was going into production. And the 'vette (which the Camaro gets it's engines from) was due to get the new LS3 in 2008, so yeah, Ford started working on the Coyote in '07.

I doubt there will be an LT2 introduced in the Gen6 Refresh. As stated above, the Camaro generally gets it's engines from the 'vette, and if the 2019 Camaro was going to get an LT2, the 'vette would already have it or also get it in 2019. But, the 2019 'vette has been announced with no changes to the engine (IIRC). We may see the new 10-speed auto though.

Spring of 2007 for the Coyote development , the 2005 GTO had a 400 HP LS2 . I doubt anything will be done with the LS1 yet ,i don't think AL O and his team is concerned with the Mustangs extra bump of HP over the LT1. I am betting on 485HP out of the LT2 ,at least. But who knows ,it seems HP sells cars in Mustangs and Challengers even if they can't make them turn .Maybe Camaro will try it to sell more and boost the LT1 .

The 2010 GT only had 3 more horsepower than the V6 Camaro. WTG Ford!

Looks like the trucks didn’t get the dual injection systems. That’s what I was watching to bet on a hp bump

There is no released specs on the 2019 updated truck engines yet. Nobody knows if they added dual injection or not. Dynamic Skip Fire is the only known change. No power #s, or nothing yet.
