To argue about a venue that the overall vast majority of these cars will never enter is kind of ridiculous. Even if they were to enter the venue would the driver even have the ability to extract the true limits of the car? Would the owner/driver spend the high dollar cost of track racing (track fees, club memberships, tires, brakes), and ignore fear of accident, or drivetrain damage, to push their car to the absolute limits.

Wouldn't the conversation be better served talking about the venues that the car will be used in? Focus on the 99% instead of the 1%.
The whole point was it was a road course, it was SRA vs. IRS, and it even put the best road Mustang ever built against the lowest 1LE model....and it was a wash....

Put it on a live street, and the SRA is going to be in a bigger world of trouble than the IRS....the track just made it fair to the Mustang..

I'm curious, what kind of issues are the 2018 Mustangs having? Hopefully not the vibration issue again. TIA.

Also interested in what issues they are having. I’ve heard of a few on their new 12” digital cluster, but that’s it.

The driveline vibration is a known issue, that's true.

However the Gen 6 Camaro has been seeing a number of issues as well..failed engines, failed rear ends, A8 clunk and other transmission issues.

If the S550 Mustang is crap for those reasons, then the Gen 6 Camaro is floating right next to it in the bowl.

no driveline vibrations issues have shown up on the 18's yet. and only a couple engine issues in the very early models. no worse than the Camaros.

Go look on their forums. About 40% are saying they have vibrations.

So far, these are the 2018 GT issues I've seen posted:

-1 Blown engine - car still at dealer. There's supposedly another but haven't seen proof.
-Grinding gears at high rpm - still no fix. Seems to be common
Video here:

-1 a10 tranny failure:

-1 complaint about steering wheel vibration - no follow up
-1 Clutch disc came apart - no follow up so far
-1 LCD panel dead
-Automatic transmission whining sound - no fix yet - very common
-Active exhaust issue where it doesn't always work - might be common as others have chimed in.

Oh wow, I had no clue. I thought IRS was far superior for a road course. Which race cars (non-drag) are running SRA exactly?

They all going to have problems here and there

But as a whole I believe it goes GM, furd then Chrysler as far as overall quality. Both in what I’ve seen as a part time mechanic in the last 15 years as well as online data.

Just recently had to replace brakes all around on a 2014 ram 1500 with 40k on the clock. My 14 Silverado has over 60k most of it with larger 35 tires still on the original brakes. Just stuff like that I’ve noticed over the years.

GM has the highest quality/ reliability overall of the big 3 imo

remains to be seen if the 18's have evap issues like the others do. wouldn't surprise me though. ford hasn't had a good record with AC in cars/trucks lately.

If we're really talking about issues the camaro is no better with its A8 shudders which is still occurring on the newer models with no GM provided resolution in sight.
