Nice photos. Car's looking great!

What group do you run with at Eagles Canyon?

Will you be at Cresson next weekend?

Thanks!

Green since I'm new to the track.

I thought about it, but decided to do Eagles next month -- closer to home...

Comparing the 3r vs Toyos:

Goodyear’s 3Rs (ZL1 1LE)

Toyo R888R:

Very similar except load rating, price, and sizes:

It’s open track day and the track puts it on every month!

Very well done and they provide breakfast, lunch, and drinks throughout the day. Fantastic place...

Apex Pro Track Coach

Well, my Apex Pro finally came in! Installation is a breeze and I ordered the Windshield mount in case I need to move it.

Here it is un-boxed:

Here it is 'charging':

Hard to see here:

No flash:

The one thing I'd like to see is the red-led on the back, above the USB wire, or some place easier to see. Small nit but that way I'd know its charging.

FYI, this unit uses the USB-C cable -- so if you want a longer USB cable, remember that...

Like the magnetic base -- 2 pins -- that are very strong. Looks like a very strong unit!

I have a location and I'll put this right in my 'scan' so it will be easy to view. I have the windshield mount if its in the way or, I want to 'let' Danny try it when I get to NCM ;o)

Outside of that, can't wait to try it out next month!

I'll have 2 camera's going -- GoPro for the track, SJCAM for watching me and the Apex Pro -- should be fun!

Took off the belly pan and notice a bit of oil around. Turns out the oil cooler lines near the sandwich needed to be tighten up again -- not unusual since Mishimoto says to check after 500 to 1000 miles after install -- this has 2000 since the last check so I made sure to tighten up the hoses. I'll make that a habit after every race and oil change. It looks worse than it is, very little oil leaked (the dipstick still shows full). Here is what I noticed:

You'll notice the inspection cover -- I took it off just to make 100% sure its not a rear main -- it was not -- no oil inside believe it or not -- it was all located around the inspection cover.

I also noticed my power steering fluid escaped -- turns out its was above 'hot' so had to remove fluid -- did it while it was 'cold' to make 100% sure.

Also, because I remove the belly pan so often, I had to add metal washers on both sides of the pan to ensure the bolts don't go through -- working that now...

I usually take a week or so after tracking to check things out -- just to make sure...

Buttoned things up and took for a test drive...looks like that took care of it...I’ll watch it over the next couple of days to make sure...

New GoPro Hero to test and I’ll install the Apex Pro next...

Apex Pro Track Coach (cont.)

OK, mounted up the Apex Pro and followed this guide for calibration (I also calibrated it with me in the car and door shut just to be certain ;o):

Found a great location in my 'scan' and is not covered up by the steering wheel:

Here, the blue light tells me I'm hooked up and ready to go:

Once calibrated, I can remove the unit and not have to re-calibrate as long as I keep the mount in the same location...

Toyos didn’t come in on time but the Goodyear’s did fine. I did my inspection of the Goodyear’s after the event and realized rears were done. Onto another set of Toyos. Can’t wait to see how the Toyos do. Have to work on driver mod — a lot ;o). Overall, it was a blast!
