base version of 2.0 and 3.6 do not have run flats, they come with 18" regular tires. I actually enjoyed the run flats when when running the mountain roads, the stiff sidewall was a ples and they stuck pretty good to the road till they were 3/4's gone.

The LS versions or the base LT's because whiskeyfed has a base LT 18" and they do in fact come with run-flats.

The OEM tire that comes with the 18" LT wheels are not run flats.

The SS 1LE and ZL1/ZL1 1LE also don't have run flats.

I saw that strange must've been a model year change I dunno. I know a lot of 16-17 LT's with the 18" OEM Wheel have run-flats. I'm not trying to break the internet here.

Nope, 16-18 have the same RPO code for the 18" tires. I don't know what to tell you about you seeing the 18" LT with run flats.

That's true JohnCobalt, the RS does come with some nice stuff. And yes, EvilBee, I can certainly see them being the devil. But, it dosnt matter, I love my car and that is the bottom line. I think that we have the best looking car available on the road today. I will use these tires for a while and then just change them.

That's pretty much your best bet is use them until they need to be replaced. No use wasting the money until you absolutely need to.

Chicago Tommy thank you for that information on heat. I am in NY so that should only be a 6 months of the year issue.

This is my daily driver so I think that I will keep them until they wear out or I have an issue as you suggestted Wiskeyfed.

I have another question - can these tires be plugged. Over the years I have driven over my share of nails. Usually its a $20 repair for the remaining life of the tire. For some reason I thought that I heard one nail hole and these become garbage. Is that right?

Guys, thank you so much for this info. I am really enjoying being back in a Camaro after 25 years and I am really enjoying this forum!
Absolutely no problem, my friend. Glad I could help.

Yes, runflats can be patched/plugged, as long as the hole isn't in the outermost treadblock or the sidewall. Once those outermost tread blocks have been compromised, most tire shops will not want the liability.

I went back to the Goodyear eagle F1 Run flats, the salesman at the tire store had a good point. i did get over 30 K out of the first set. He said the car has no spare in it so be glad you didn't break down in Guam.
