Lol, totally agree with Need4Camaro on the cruise control speeds only having to fill up twice on an 1100 mile trip was awesome but it was on and off cruise control driving but 80% of it was set at 74MPH honestly. Would have been 100% but city junctions and traffic idiots also from NH to NY going through Vermont wasn't anything I wanted to keep my cruise control on for nothing like those winding mountain roads. I think my friend in a 5th Gen SS ended up stopping 4 or 5 times.

here's a "cherry picked" average my 2017 2SS A8 got the last road trip .. I use cruse control unless I'm going through a Town. Because I don't like speeding tickets the speed limit was between 60 and 65 for the trip. I normally run 2 to 3mph over posted speed to make my dark side happy. I ended up getting 36.6 average for that entire trip.

Wow you guys get some good MPG on your Camaros. I usually get outstanding gas mileage on the car I own but they have all been manuals. Driving my A8 V6 2LT I only get 24. Best trip I got 31 going straight 45-55 MPH for a very long stretch.

My 85 L98 5.7 Vette with the 700 R4 gets the same as my 2017 Camaro. I expected better in the Camaro- I got the V6 for the MPG and regular gas over the SS.

My past 2016 Subaru WRX I averaged 31.8 and 38-40 on the highway- unheard of mileage in a WRX.

It would be interesting to hear the best MPG on Camros with V6 and turbo 4 manuals.....

The A8 SS are getting better mpg than the M6.....

Gas mpg is my LAST concern with these cars.......

If gas was a deciding factor on your trim level of camaro you probably shouldn't have bought one at all. That's just my personal opinion take it or leave it. I didn't buy my I4 for gas mileage i bought it for fun and because i didn't have the money for a V8 and wanted to race it and mod it and knew the limitations of the V6 platform. Again my personal opinion but there's already aside from exhaust a larger aftermarket for the I4 then the V6. As for using regular gas in the V6 you can absolutely but why? It's already been proven even with an N/A stock V6 premium will be more beneficial for the longevity and overall performance of the platform i get saving 3 or 4 bucks don't get me wrong just a short term savings or a long term investment is something to think about..

Premium for the V6 is better? Has this been proven? Genuinely curious. The stock tune is set for regular so unless the car is knocking and pulling timing then premium won't do anything for it otherwise.

I'm very impressed! That's better gas mileage than my Chevrolet Volt. I have a 200-mile round trip daily, my combined mileage is 41.2mpg. I do have a bit of a lead bit, but none the less wow.

Makes me wish I bought a I4 or V6 6th Gen as a daily instead of my volt lol.

I can't guarantee the LGX suffers from this but i do know the 5th Gen 3.6 LLT and LFX that the LGX is based from did pull timing on regular fuel despite being advertised for it. I'm not saying you'll see any real gains on a butt dyno just inherently better for the longevity if things aren't being cut or retarded because of fuel.

On highway trips I can 25-27 in my M6 SS. Otherwise I hover around 19.

i drove from irvine california to near phoenix arizona on one tank of gas and had plenty left-over when i got there. Both ways I averaged over 40mpg for 50 mile stretches and they weren't during some kind 50 mile downhill stretch.

Sit at cruise control and it's not hard at all to hit 40mpg all day long on level ground. Traffic will be the limiting factor.

edit: i only use 91-93 octane in my cars. So not sure how lower octane impacts it.

I use 89 so I guess it makes no difference, the key is Cruise control , my last car without cruise control I got 4-5 mpg less. Only time I don't use it is in traffic.

Admittedlly, in my 5th Gen V6, I could literally feel the difference between regular and premium. I can't feel it so much in my 6th Gen V6. It feels pretty much the same.
