Rubber burning smell
Hi all just got my 18 1ss 1le and its a blast! Only issue is this melting/burning rubber smell after a get back from a drive. I'm at 200 miles now and it seems to be going away. Not sure if this is normal as this is my first new car. I have been following the break-in procedure outlined in the sticky.
Thanks in advanced! |

Pop the hood and run it, look for anything odd (around exhaust) Good luck. |

I took it out again for another 90 miles. Still smelling it. I checked around the manifolds didn't see anything too close. I guess I'll check under the car when I get the chance.

I had that issue when also it was the air condition belt rubbing on the wiring harness, I just moved the wiring harness over all fixed.

yup, a few have said that wiring harness can contact the belt - check all around it and make sure. Mine was pretty far away..
