P.S. First 4 days after I bought the 1LE was miserable rain and temps 36F-40F. I had to drive from dealership at night in the rain 200 miles, then another 150 miles following day.

Tires were absolutely fine, no issues other then common sense - put some heat into them (e.g. forced braking), avoid standing water, drive sensibly.

I was super worried about driving in those conditions, but it was a non-event. I'm glad I'm 30% through the break in period.

Not the same animal, but I ran euro spec Mobile 1 0-40W in my cammed 2010 SS. Supplied the oil and Wix filter and the dealer did the changed for $15 bucks a pop. They charged for the labor and I have a good relationship with them. For brake fluid, I started using Castrol SRF since our Gov't had the bright idea to ban dyed brake fluids. Clear and blue made flushing a no brainer, but it just made too much sense. Took the tech 2 quarts of SRF to flush it completely and about a quart to flush the calipers for subsequent track days. Got all fluids off Amazon at a decent price.

Running DBA rotors and Hawk DTC 60/70 pads so they get really hot and a little soft after a track weekend. Swap back to stock pads in between.

might want to put a bit more miles on it prior.. break in is 1500. That's if you want to follow the owners manual, and it sounds like you do.

Any reason it states to not use Silicone or DOT5 brake fluid?

I believe the owners manual specificly states not to use Silicone based brake fluids. Dot4 for high performance tracking.

The components of the brake system will not work with a Dot 5 silicone brake fluid. You have to have a system designed to use that fluid and ours is not.

Silicon based fluids are more easily compressed than glycol fluids. That compressibility gets noticeably worse when the brake fluid is subjected to high temps.

I read this years ago in Carroll Smiths books, Engineer to win & Tune to Win. It's also discussed at length here: http://trackpedia.winhpde.com/wiki/Brake_Fluid

All you need to know about brake fluid is SRF.

React SRF Racing
Racing Brake Fluid
Description
Castrol React SRF Racing is a high performance brake fluid of special value in competitive motor sport where extreme braking conditions
are encountered. It is an exclusive Castrol product registered under patents in many countries.
Castrol React SRF Racing
exceeds US
Federal Standards FMVSS 116 DOT 3 and DOT 4, ISO 4925, JIS K2233 and current SAE J 1703 specifications.
Application
Castrol React SRF Racing has an exceptionally high dry boiling point ( typically 320°C ) making it ideal for use under arduous braking
conditions such as racing or rallying.
Castrol React SRF Racing has a very high vapour lock point (the more important measure of high temperature performance under actual
braking conditions), and has the additional advantage of sustaining high vapour lock point characteristics during its service life.
In order to achieve the optimum benefits in such applications, advanced materials have been employed in a unique and patented Castrol
formulation. The properties of this formulation are such that in order to derive maximum benefit the use of Castrol React SRF Racing should
be restricted to not more than eighteen months before draining and refilling.
Castrol React SRF Racing is suitable for all disc and drum brake systems with the exception of those for which mineral oil is prescribed. It
is miscible with all conventional fluids meeting US Federal Standards FMVSS 116 DOT 3 and DOT 4, ISO 4925 and current SAE J 1703
and J1704. However, mixing with conventional brake fluids will merely reduce the higher quality of Castrol React SRF Racing and therefore
recommended that conventional brake fluids be drained from the system before flushing and re refilling.
It is recommended that this fluid is changed every 18 months to maintain it's exceptionally high vapour lock performance.
Storage
Castrol React SRF Racing has a shelf life of 2 years. All packages should be stored under cover. Where outside storage is unavoidable
drums should be laid horizontally to avoid the possible ingress of water and the obliteration of drum markings. Products should not be stored
above 60°C, exposed to hot sun or freezing conditions.

Product Performance Claims
FMVSS 116 DOT 3
FMVSS 116 DOT 4
ISO 4925 (Class 4)
SAE J1703
JIS K2233
