In contacting GM corporate for help, they've since put my issue into PENDING status with no eta on any resolve. Dealership says the part is on order for a new steering column but Zero clue on when it will ever be manufactured. So here I sit. In PENDING status.

Steering column?

I'm curious if it just needs a steering angle sensor.

Did you get any codes?

Maybe try another dealer for a second opinion.

Stabilitrac TC uses the angle sensor, you got a TC light.

No lights at this point. I did get the steering message once and i could barley turn the wheel pulling out of the garage. I'm gonna hit my service guy up at dealership and see if they looked into the steering torque sensor which has been an issue. Its only turning to the right where it feels like its binding up. The harder you turn, the harder it grabs.

Man that is strange.

If it were physical binding in the column, it most likely would bind both directions, not just right turns.

Also, in this instance I'm referring to the steering ANGLE sensor (in the column), rather than the TORQUE sensor (mounted to steering shaft at the rack).

I sent that pic and some info to my service guy asking him if he recalled anything like that being checked out. I was curious if my new Texas Speed headers might be rubbing. however, we dont see any marks/scratches on the column at all. i can fit the tip of my pinkie between the column and the header tube. i'm curious of how much moves around while i'm driving. i'd like to use a gopro and tie it down with a light and drive around neighborhood to see if it is rubbing or not. thx for the extra info. i appreciate being able to bounce things off someone else.

I think a lot of it has to do with the start with your dealership. Lucky for me I am in an excellent relationship to the dealer and starts with that. Now, if your dealer doesn't care about customer service, and if GM doesn't care. not sure what else to do. but I've always had good (knock on wood) luck with them.
