That opener now is in the middle so it's out of the way if the car, just an odd pic angle. It's a 2 car wide door.

THANKS!
The side ones make way less noise and mount on the wall next to door and the ugly track and motor hanging in the air go away

I bought a new C5 Torch Red Corvette coupe back in 2004. Loved that car and had it for 12 years which is the longest I have ever kept a car. Spent a fortune in mods. I still miss it from time to time but the SS Vert is such a nice car I will probably not buy another Corvette. Besides, I was so anal about that car that I didn't enjoy it as much as my Camaro. Always worried about where I parked it and it had to be spotless. When I bought the Fifty SS Vert I went to buy a new C7 Grand Sport but saw the Fifty on the showroom floor and that was that. Not to mention it was $25K less.

I'm new to sport/performance cars. Hell, the sportiest thing I had before was a 2001 Sebring softop.

But based on all my research of the big 3 (Dodge, Chevy, and Ford), Chevy has it right. Top notch tech, top notch performance, and awesome value for what you get. My next car after this one is paid off would EASILY be a new generation Corvette or Camaro Zl1, after some test drives of course.

I was never a fanboy of any brand to begin with. Never grew up in "car" family, but Chevy won me over. I don't feel I missed out by passing on a GT350 or a Challenger.

Glad you picked another awesome GM ride instead! These days, Camaro or Corvette, you just can't go wrong.

Trust me, I love my SS . And I'm just as anal with it as you were with your C5 since its the first brand new car I've bought. Plus its not my daily, so when I do drive it I'm not running errands with it. Takes a lot of that worry factor out since I'm not going places that will cause me to think about where to park it. You're right about the price too, since the SS is damn near equal to the C7 in performance aspect. The Corvette though still holds a place in my heart, runs in the family .

Congrats Devnull! C7 looks great and I love that blue!

I actually did the same thing back in September. I had the 1LE, but the Chevy dealer had a left over 17 with a huge discount and I couldn't say no. I also, had a 14 C7 before the 1LE. I LOVED the 1LE and to be honest, I miss it a bit. I actually got withdraws when I didn't drive it for a day, lol!

Here's a pic of past and new....

Haha, I can totally relate. I seriously think these two cars are on par, and it's just the superficial stuff that differentiates them (and those swing both ways!)

Man if I could've swung both it would've happened lol

100% agree dude. I've got so much Chevy stuff around too, and they just rule for me!

DAAAAAAAANG! That C7 color. WOW! I had a C7 before the 1LE, and now right after. They are both so darn good, it's amazing!

And yeah, the leftover 17's were at an amazing sweet spot, just can't lose there! I saw some at $14k+ off!

I almost signed the papers for a white/black with red interior 2017 Grand Sport. Man, was that thing awesome! I love the wide body. But, after a lot of thought, I decided on the 1LE due to the back seat. We like to go on family drives and my 5 yr old son fits perfect in the back in his recaro booster seat with my wife riding shotgun. Had a ton of cash leftover too due to the 16+ grand difference in price.

Yeah I need to do multiple things. the side opener isn't too bad, but I want to have the doors open straight up, so I need to redo all of the tracks and spring. For now, it hasn't been a huge deal since I don't store a car on it (only use it for working on cars). Only thing I can't do is open the door while a car is up.

THANKS DUDE, I APPRECIATE IT!

Yeah man I totally hear that. My kids decided that they wouldn't sit back there, and so we take the Jeep.

I wish they would've sat back there, HAHA!!!

Congrats on the vette! We recently bought my 16 year old son a new '17 Camaro RS for his 1st car. I own a '79 silver L-48 vette (not a ground pounding year, but most ever bought by the many baby boomers). Bought it in 1987 with 20K miles on it and was my daily driver for many years. Still get many compliments on the C3 shark body style and it does a lot of parade duty. Catalytic converter now gone with straight pipes into turbo mufflers to help it breathe and perform better. Only regret? Sold my restored '70 SS-396 4 sp, Fathom Blue, white bucket, console , factory air and gauges Chevelle to buy the vette. Got $4250, but what in the world was I thinking???? Everyone in our small town loves and compliments my son's Camaro. Hope he always keeps his 1st car.

WOW, Camaro for a first car... NICE! He BETTER KEEP IT!

Dude, nothing better looking than the lines of a C3. Such a great car!

I let my favorite car go too, wasn't quite as cool as yours ('03 Z06), but I put a ton into it and would LOVE to have it back someday. I totally hear you there..

THANKS!
