the SS 1LE was an awesome ride...

Fellas,

I really truly enjoyed all 5700 miles and 11 months of ownership with the 2017 SS 1LE! I always called it my "Corvette C7 Z51 with a Camaro body", and it was. Well, I found a C7 Z51 with a Corvette body this past weekend and the number hit me just right, so I made the move. I've owned several vettes in the past and while I went back to one I must say, this SS 1LE TRULY was amazing! Looking forward to the modifications starting again (have a few parts from the last C7), and won't be going anywhere around here (this forum is awesome).

THANKS for the amazing information, help, and fun!

-devnull

P.S. Lowering, skip shift, and window tint are mandatory ASAP on this thing!

Nice. I would give up my 1 LE for a C7 Grand Sport, but that's about it. 11 months? Hope they didn't take you over the coals too bad.

Enjoy the vette!

Thanks man... I was actually quite surprised at how well that 1LE did. Wasn't a bad hit at all!

Performance wise I'd say it is VERY close between a Z51 and SS 1LE (Grand Sport obviously taking them both). This was a little but of a superficial move (I like taking the top off, and a few other non performance related C7 features).

If the deal didn't work the way I wanted, I would've been quite happy keeping the Camaro. Such a great car!

nice cars and garage. You need to get a side mounted garage door opener so there is nothing above your car

THANKS dude, yeah I had the garage people over to start that process, but they tried some shenanigans with the price once they got there so u booted them. I've got to get that done! Can still lift the cars no problem, just can't open the door with one up until I get it done.

That opener now is in the middle so it's out of the way if the car, just an odd pic angle. It's a 2 car wide door.

THANKS!

I have to ask.. what is it you do for a living.. and how do I do it. Color me envious.... badass cars, and awesome garage. Always wanted a Corvette, and before I die, I WILL own one. Enjoy the C7 Z51 man!

HAHA, thanks man. I am an IT guy, have been for over 20 years and run a few engineering groups for a large company. I probably have 40 years of experience since I worked at least 20 years worth the first few. It's all about busting it...

I've always wanted a Corvette, and when I bought my first (used) it needed a clutch (2003 Z06). The clutch replacement was $1500, but the lift only cost me $2000 so I went with the lift and it has paid for itself over and over many times over the 13 years I've had it. BEST TOOL IN THE SHED!

Congrats man! I was torn between buying a used C7 Z51 like you have or buying the SS 1LE new. I had never bought new and I went with that so I could experience a new car. Next time, it'll probably be the vette. Not that I have any regrets with the Camaro. Both bad ass rides. Don't forget to change your profile info.
