It's a very nice piece and fits well. Obviously it will be cheaper if you go the DIY route, but for an out of the box piece, I've had no complaints. We have been running one on a '13 ATS for the past 2+ years with a Turbobay upgraded stock turbo and it keeps the IAT's within 10-15 degrees of ambient on a drag pass.

Also running a 50/50 meth mix on that '13 ATS, forgot about that. We haven't taken it back to the track in a minute, but the last time out we were still tuning and ran a 12.6 pass...

Man that’s pretty impressive. I got the car about a month ago. So just starting the process but got a LONG way to go. Want this thing to be fast. Looking at possibly tuning it soon. Not sure what’s the best bang for the buck with this car yet since it seems like tunes are limited still. Any ideas are appreciated

Tunes aren't at all limited, some specific Tuners are limited by THEIR ability. You can tune from mild to wild. Seriously, ZZP. I'm so glad they finally became a sponsor here. They have a car that ran 11.97 with about $2k in mods. Just wait a couple weeks for their black friday sale. You'll be impressed.

Since I know you love DYNO results: I'd be willing to bet there would be 0 dyno difference between a typical bolt on tuned TCM VS un- TUNED TCM on a 2017+...
First of all, yes, ZZP tunes 2017's. I believe the record holding car is a 2017. Enough about the TCM. Evil Bee can either pay the 4 credits, or just drop it at this point. I agree with Coop, not enough left on the table to justify the added cost. You wouldn't even pick up .5 seconds, more in the range of .1 maybe with a killer shift program. The most worthwhile part of the TCM is the shift time, which already occurs in milliseconds. I wouldn't compromise my transmissions longevity for .1 in the quarter. Aside from the shift times, there is possibly some torque management modifiers. I would think you could zero those out, or damned close to it with the regular ECU tune. Torque management isn't an entirely bad thing either. It's put in there to reduce transmission clutch wear, which is what kills a lot of transmissions. Finally, TCM reprogramming is a can of worms. There are 2 guys in the LSx world I would trust to tune an A6 or A8. It is VERY easy to get it wrong and nuke a transmission.

This why i ask these questions because i will eventually get a response that actually outlines issues thank you CT. Coop i appreciate the insight wasn't so much a dyno thing for me it just felt like the A8 shifted very slow on my 1/4 mile runs although I'm still totally new to drag racing only been 3 times so i could chalk it up to that as well.

I know I've pointed this out a few times on the Cadillac forum, and I think I have done it here as well, but the stock 8L45 tune upshifts faster at WOT than the Porsche PDK. As coop asked, did you pull and data from your runs? We're kind of pissing in the dark here without data! I know spending $500 on an HPT cable isn't sexy like other mods, but it is an invaluable tool if you plan on drag racing and want the best ET possible. Let me know the next time you're planning on going to the track. If I can't make it out there in person, I'll let you borrow my HPT cable if you cover shipping. I can't make a better offer than that!

about a month ago i installed the same CAI. did not disconnect battery. i unplugged the MAF to remove it from stock intake. i did however, break both clips that hold my PCV to the intake tube. (2017) i did notice in the install videos that the connection is not serviceable on the 2017s. probably so you HAVE to go to the dealer IF there is an issue with it. drove for maybe 2 weeks before i got a replacement tube and i have not gotten a CEL at all. also the dealer has no idea i replaced the tube... and said nothing about the intake box. service tech told me that the only time doing these bolt on mods voids the warranty is if they cause damage to the car that they can prove.
