My 2022 ZL1 1LE does not have a problem with GPS on PDR thankfully, but I have spoken to several others with 2022+ that have issues with the GPS as you described.

Reporting in on this thread.

I have a ‘23 1SS 1LE. The PDR has not worked correctly since new. I’ve done 10 track days with it and I will usually see the symptoms as described above. Works for the initial session, but then the track map goes spaghetti and the times either dont record or the whole session is lumped into one lap time. Sometimes the data shows correctly in Cosworth toolbox, but this is not always the case. This leads me to believe it may be how the car is displaying the data I’ve been using micro center SD cards, class 10. Been using an individual SD card for each track.

Hope we can figure something out.

I have been working with a group of GM Engineers. There will be a TSB soon to cover this, which involves replacing the existing Antenna with a new unit and moving it's location to in or near the shark fin.

In the meantime, I have found a replacement GPS antenna that I routed to the rear deck until the TSB is available that has 100% cured my issue.

Good to know. I work at GM and contacting one of the engineers was my next step. You seem to have it well in the works already. Thanks.

Thx FollowMyLine

I'm nearly out of warranty. Do you know if the TSB will go past 36,000 miles?

I don’t know if my issue is related, but I was at the track last weekend and I had to define the finish line each session otherwise I didn’t have the gps overlay. I read on here that after you set it once the car is supposed to remember it for the rest of the sessions as long as you’re using the same SD card. Can someone confirm if what I wrote above is correct? If so I wonder if I’m having gps antenna issues as well. I’ll try a different SD cars next week.

I just found this thread and I am hopeful "again" that maybe a fix is on the way, and I may even try the gps module linked from amazon. Anyway, here is what I have been through and thank you to travislambert, he and I spoke off and on last season. My car is a '21 2ss 1LE A10 so it is an earlier model that the '22 and up referenced. I'll try to keep it as short as I can.

I purchased my car in December of 2020 and began tracking it in July of 2021. I have over 500 laps at my local track which hosts a track day once a month from April - October. I don't miss many. My PDR system has had the gps issues from the start. The first dealer trip where I raised awareness was a waste of time, they paid no attention to the PDR and assumed it was tied to the navigation system and performed a software update. After that failure I decided to purchase race chrono pro and an external gps, this got me through the '22 season and I've grown to like it especially as an in car timer. 100% would recommend. Near the end of the '23 season I figured I'd try to get this PDR thing fixed again. Went to a different dealer whom actually were great to work with and offered to replace the PDR unit (not the antenna) under warranty. Well, that didn't fix it. Obviously the gps antenna is the issue here, which has been mentioned. Like others, my car picks up signal great during session #1 and then again during session #4 which occurs after lunch where my car has been sitting for an hour and a half. On the in-between sessions I have even tried starting the car and not moving it for 5-10 minutes to allow the gps to locate, no luck

While what I am sharing doesn't help matters I figured another story of this issue may be seen and potentially get that TSB moving along quicker.

Fingers crossed

~AJ

Well, I finally got around to making this video. I wanted to test it out first on my own car, before making a video for others. It works, and it's a solution to the funky GPS antenna until GM releases their TSB for the 22-24 models.

You may see some images pop-up that look familiar from this thread! Travis, I really wanted to use your middle finger track map but decided not to.

Thanks for the time and effort to put this video out. It's a great DIY fix for the problem.
