Wait 2-3 months and start searching cars.com for a good deal on a 2SS. I got my 2SS last December for 25.5% off MSRP.

If my figuring is correct, the 3.6LV6 makes more power per cubic inch than the 6.2LV8 n/a.

Test drive them both. As someone who recently went from a v6 (not a Camaro but similar) to a V8 1LE I'm very happy with the power and by power I mean low end torque. Yes the a good v6 these days will make great horse power up top. The problem is you will find mph where you can't downshifts into the power when you want it. When you do make power you have to rev the balls out of it.
I've seen a few posts here talking about the power in the LT1 being unusable on the street safely. I disagree. If I can downshifts into third and be at 3K rpm and then ease on the throttle to quickly but smoothly pass traffic I find this much safer than the alternative situation I used to run into with my v6. In a similar position with a v6 I would have to downshifts into 2nd so I was at a much higher rpm and I would have to push the peddal through the floor to get the acceleration I needed to pass quickly and get far enough ahead to merge over safely. In these two scenarios I'm ultimately accelerating at the same speed but in the V8 it's effortless and smooth and in the v6 you really have to push the vehicle. I would describe myself as a safe but spirited driver. I believe I drive safer having more low end torque with the V8 vs the v6. If you don't intend to use your daily drive car in a spirited fashion and like to slow down when merging I don't think the engine would make any difference so I assume anyone debating between the two engines enjoys driving at least somewhat spiritedly. Another thing worth mentioning is my wife also feels safer driving with me in the v8. She didn't like how hard I pushed the v6 sometimes and feels safer with my driving style having the V8. It's rare that you can safely use 100% of the LT1 at redline on the street. But it's great driving a car that can put a smile on your face only using 70% and saving the extra for special occasions. Your mileage may vary. Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk |

This is with a manual btw. I imagine it doesn't matter as much with an auto. Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk |
