What real world racing or track condition would exist to allow you a full mile of straight track to ring the car out that hard? I can think of nowhere west of the Mississippi that has sanctioned races where you can run a car out a mile..and no I'm not counting private airstrip rentals or the salt flats. |

In regards to where this advantage would be, i would think any highway roll race which seems to be the popular form of street racing these days.

You have no ET to compare and the 1le has more aero as well as heavier wheel tire package The 6 speed is in 4th until 140 ish mph. Then into a 5th overdrive gear You are bragging about which car pulls harder in overdrive gear. And with no ET for the run. And the GT lost everything else. Wake up |

This right here is the culprit, the acceleration dies pretty hard after 140 in the SS because of 5th gear. I remember watching Henessey's video of doing 0-170 in the SS at his strip and it pulled like hell up to 140, as soon as he hit 5th it just died. This is why the "6mph difference" is negligible at best, it's all down to final drive/transmission gearing, and if you are ever going over 150mph on a public road you deserve to be locked up.

The level of bias is kinda funny is all but I get it you like mustangs As far as the times it’s a mag test on stock rubber. Typical. Isn’t this 12.6 run faster than any stock 15-17 s550 manual on a drag strip? Without the a10 and a 25 hp gain I don’t see much better than 12.4 out of a manual in a mag. So far it looks like a drag mode 3.55 a10 is the GT to watch out for if you have an SS |

If you want to understand why the Camaro was slowing down at higher speed calculate and compare the frontal area of both cars. If you understand much at all about aerodynamic drag it's obvious that the Camaro has more of it. I don't mind as that drag is a proponent of keeping the car cool while I run 40 minute sessions on the track. Not saying anything about the Mustang, just that the Camaro is working harder to get through the air at speed and hence it is bleeding energy...

What I take from this test is that it will be a drivers race on the street/strip. No more clear advantage for a 6th Gen. On the track the 1LE is still far ahead.
