Bolted up and dyno

I haven't found good time to update what I've been up to lately but the short of it is I have bolted it up turbo back and went for a dyno run. I am pleased with the numbers as this being pre-tune. I am now working with the shop to get a tune through HPtuner. Before I do though I think I am going to be putting a decent sized intercooler in there. Noticed a lot of heat soak killing the top end after subsequent pulls.

These cars respond well. Your best run is approximately 30-35 hp over stock untuned with intake, downpipe and mufflers. These turbos wakeup fast. Nice job!!

I was surprised by the gains myself. Probably sitting somewhere about 310hp and 350lbft at the crank. Nice gen4 V8 numbers

Nice. Do you a full copy of the graph? I'd love to see it!

I brought it up in the 'what's it take' thread that intercoolers are of paramount importance. Even an otherwise completely stock car would benefit. Heat will absolutely destroy performance in a forced induction application. You need nice, cool, dense, boost to make consistent power! Heck, even a meth kit would help a stock car out as well, at a minimum making it more consistent!

That's first run and last. Five pulls total with 4 of them in 4th and one in fifth. We threw more fans at it and waited a good 15 mins before the last 2 runs. Obvious here that revving past 5500rpm is worthless. A tune can only get me so far before the IAT gets to be too much. Intercooler, maybe oil cooler, and thermostat are next on the list before a tune.

Nice numbers!

Do you happen to have the HD cooling package? I wonder if that might help or hinder the heatsoak in the intercooler?

No cooling package, wish I did. It would help guaranteed.

Well that makes me feel a little better about spending the 500 bucks on it. Thanks! Maybe Mishimoto's intercooler would help.

I don't think an oil cooler would really make a difference as far as cooling down the intake charge. It would be beneficial if you ran track days and were pounding on the car for 20 minutes straight.

HD Cooling wouldn't change the amount of heatsoak in the stock intercooler. It would make the engine run cooler. You would still need an aftermarket intercooler.
