Hood Bolts
I bought my car new. Recently, I noticed my hood bolts and washers appear to be hand painted using touch-up paint. Other bolts under the hood don't have this same look. The hand painted appearance makes me think my hood was removed from the car at one time....even though I bought my car new.
What do your hood bolts look like? I'm specifically talking about the bolts that connect to the hinges.

So you bought a 2011 new recently. I'm not saying a 2011 couldn't still be on the lot but new is questionable if it was at a dealership you need to get more info.

Not sure what hood bolts you are talking about. Pics?
If it's the ones that bolt the hood to the hinges, you know that when they bolt the hood on at the factory they still have to adjust it right? Maybe yours was being a pain and they roughed up the bolts a little. The guy has over 2,200 posts, I doubt he just bought the car recently.
