Catch can install location

Heya everyone,

I recently upgraded from a 2.9L gen 4 whipple to a 3.0L gen 6, and I’m not 100% sure of correct connection to install my catch can. I was also curious if vented vs non-vented cans are that big of a deal on boosted applications. I’m only running 6-7lbs of boost if that makes a difference as well.

I’m pretty sure this is the correct location but I had a friend who blew his rear main seal due to an improperly installed catch can, so I might have a little PTSD from that, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask

Cool

Do not mount a vented catch can and not keep a close watch on it due to oil vapor and oil dripping... in fact, if you are road racing or doing track days, several tracks will decline your tech inspection due to the fire hazard an open catch can has.

I designed a mount to place it forward on the core support and use the Improved Racing closed system with the custom fitting I made to utilize the OEM drainback to the crankcase. LMK if you need more info.
