LT1 to SS Bumper Swap
I’ve done some digging and found a few threads on this, so I have a general idea of what I need, but I was hoping someone who’s actually done it could confirm a few things.
I have a 2022 Camaro LT1 with the RS package, so from what I understand the SS bumper should bolt up pretty easily compared to non-RS cars. I know I’ll need to pick up the fog lights/DRLs as well. My main question is about wiring, since I have the RS package, will my existing harness support the fog lights/DRLs, or will I need additional wiring or a separate harness to get everything working properly? Ideally I’d find a wrecked SS and pull everything myself, but who knows if I will find one. Most likely will purchase offline & get painted, maybe do install myself. Appreciate any insight from someone who’s done this swap. Thanks! https://autoaddictusa.com/products/2...50175642927415 https://autoaddictusa.com/products/2...50175642927415 |

I had a aftermarket zl1 bumper on my car when i first got it , those share the same fog light/DRL as the LT i went to a factory SS bumper The harness was able to fit but the clips that hold the wires were in different positions. I used zipties to secure the harness to the back of the bumper cover. The plugs are the same.

Thats why I spent the extra money and just got the SS. Because this looks like a huge hassle also really expensive. Most people like their V6 bumper. Why don't you?

LT1 won’t have the extra connectors for the lower DRL’s like 2016-2018 had. OP will have to splice his existing harness or find a custom harness to power the lower lights.

Its hard to say without seeing it. But the connector the bumper harness connects to is probably still there . Just have to pull the bumper and look. I see cars all the time with connectors that don't connect to anything. Just because in manufacturing its cheaper to make one harness that fits all models

https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=174&...&v=kiLvqd_C3hs I shared that video timestamped where he shows the LT1 not having connectors for lower DRL’s. OP can try contacting NGS or autoaddicts support to see if they have a wiring diagram with their kits. Off-topic fun fact: all 6th gen Recaro seats have built in heating & ventilation, even the 1SS Recaro’s as they’re all the same internals unlike the regular SS cloth & leather seats. Gen5DIY sells a harness to turn on the ventilated seat fan for those who don’t have it from factory. Unfortunately no one has done the same with the heating function.
