Mighty Mouse Wild

How much fluid are you seeing in your CC, and how much vapor are you seeing leaving the CC? I replaced the stock hood rain guard with the Heat Extractor bracket, and light blue smoke is constantly coming out of it. LME says, " That's normal (?).

Anyway, this LME motor has more clearance than the OEM, so it makes sense that it would pass more fluid. It does not consume oil, though.

As of this fall my 2023 ZL1 I will see about a table spoon at every oil change, it's mocha/milky consistency and color. Nothing bad looking, nothing bad smelling either, but I run straight E85 as well, so consider that as well!

Does anyone ever say something good about the mighty mouse catch can?
I feel like it causes more problems than it prevents.
If you didn't have constant blue smoke before and now you do, i would think the one thing its supposed to do is not getting done.

Also you might have oil in the supercharger.

Blue smoke isn't the catch cans problem. I've never noticed any visual vapor from my cap/filter. My MM 1000 WILD seems to work great!

Its primary purpose is to relieve crankcase pressure. By definition, that means oil, steam, and water will flow to the CC. The OEM engine clearances are much tighter, so theoretically, it should pass less.

But even with a CC, I've pushed out the rear main seal, but it only leaks like 1/4 tsp. a month. It's not worth fixing yet.

Yes, thousands of satisfied owners. The reason you hear more about Mighty Mouse is because most GM vehicles run them. They have about 80% of the market. You don't hear about the other guys because hardly no one runs them.

Agreed. I have 6 years of supercharger use on my engine, with 4 years of that at 927 to 1066 WHP. Still on the OEM LT1 crank seal (furiously knocking on wood after saying that lol) and I know my tune has had some major ups and downs over the years. Hard to beef with the MM Wild, it just works. Any kind of detonation means that you are probably losing piston ring control leading to crankcase pressure spikes and only the MM Wild will vent that excess pressure off. I’m sure the MM Wild has saved my bacon many times.

The can should be closed during idle and normal vac situations, so no smoke should be visible. If its the Race can that just vents to atmosphere there will be some blow by on a built motor as the ring gaps are set wider than OEM shortblock.

Yes, the ring gap is much larger than stock. Top ring gap is .023", 2nd ring gap is .025". If memory serves me stock ring gap is single digits.

What mechanism would close the can during idle? Vacuum? There's nothing mechanical there.

Not really sure where you get your info, I've never heard of mighty mouse until i got in this forum. But also I've been into supras most of my automotive life.

I have a Mishimoto that seems to have no problems too.

I think we're mixing vented Vs unvented catch cans. The mighty mouse wild is a very simple arrangement of a vented catch can with a line running off of the rear of each valve Cover up to the 2 inlet bungs on the catch can, unbaffled with a removable filter on the top. It's the type of cc popular amongst people with boosted engines concerned about crank case pressure buildup. It vents continuously to the atmosphere. These are very different from the unvented and probably much more common catch cans that return the fluids to the intake.

So like the old school breather filter on the small block. Just better in most ways?

Is it PCV or CCV?

I think that's a fair assessment. In fact, I had a breather as my oil fill cap last year, but I took it out. I suppose the catch can might result in little less mess to cleanup in the engine compartment.
