CT5-V Blackwing Lansing Grand River Assembly

Posted by GM, practically the exact same process as the 6th gen Camaro and probably the same production lines

yeah makes me wonder what else are they planning on making there since the CT4 is going away also, hope they bring a new camaro back.
I started researching CT5 V's a little since seeing this, the V6 one is priced pretty good but would miss the V8.
that blackwing is really expensive.
I think that may be one of gm's best factories for quality, my camaro seems pretty well put together so far.

They built them both there side by side end to end.

The Camaro got cancelled when they went to Alpha V2 a slight chassis update/revision.

When your car is in 3rd place in sales even though its better than both of your competitors lets you know the market is dead for pony cars.

When the EV SUV called a Mustang out sells the real deal it tells you customers want that rolling egg design thats everywhere.

Starting at $51k USD for a Mustang GT Premium you can have a 4x4 extended cab PU truck that can actually haul stuff home from the Home Depot.

Probably just more false hope, but anyways....

Building a new Camaro on the same Alpha 2-2 platform alongside the CT5 presents a compelling business case, maximizing plant utilization and sharing development costs. An earlier proposal for a next-gen Chevy Camaro, which internal sources say was “blown apart” by management for missing business targets, specifically involved this very strategy of using the Alpha 2 platform. Its revival now seems more plausible.

If they build it will it be practical and affordable?

Will it fit "Big Men" like NFL and NBA players?

They bought the 5th Gen in droves but couldn't fit comfortably into the 6th Gen

They all went Mopar as they could fit in them.

These guys always want the latest and greatest toys so I think keeping them in mind would be a good idea.

Thats why I kept my 5th Gen I am a big guy 6'2" 275lbs and the 6th was a tight squeeze
I mean I could fit but climbing in and out everyday wouldn't be very enjoyable.

I guess I should get back to my hockey playing weight of 230/235 LOL

yeah there have been a lot of articles lately on gm authority about the next gen camaro. i think something may be in the works.
they need to use that factory for something besides CT5's, and electric stuff is not selling well now.
the cadillacs and camaro shared quite a few chassis parts and the alpha chassis
