SS vs C8 Stingray

Anyone have a C8 Stingray and how do you compare it to the Camaro SS?
If Chevy does not bring the camaro back in the future, that is pretty much the only other sports car choice from GM.
C8's are definitely more expensive, new 2LT are around 80K and 1LT 70K
I have only sat in a C8, not driven one, did own a C4 1992 back in the 90's, was pretty nice except for ground clearance issues.
not a whole lot of storage in Vette either, but could make it work probably.
looks like the C8 would also have clearance issues, front lift would help it.
sports cars in the future are getting slim choices, slim now too.
only other choice is mustang and i have had lots of those, not as nice as Camaro.
all the brz, 86, 400Z, etc. do not like the engines. and small cars too.
hopefully chevy will bring the Camaro back soon.
even used C8's are not priced much below new ones if low mileage
oh also getting in and out of the C8 was not easy, sits really low as all Vettes do. easier to get in and out of the camaro.

Only the Camaro SS1LE would be worth it to be compared to a Corvette C8 Z51

I am keeping my Camaro for quite a while, really liking it. best car I have ever had. even emailed my dealer about extended warranty options for the future.
was just curious if any vette owners were on here and how they compared it to the SS camaro.
i know its not as practical, but in the future years it may be the only sports car choice left, hopefully not but never know.

Ah ok. I was thinking you were already regretting it.

Haha, serious people don't regret buying a 2SS A four popper or the LGX, that I can see, but not the glorious LT1/LT4.

I feel GM missed an opportunity with the ATS twin turbo 3.6.
If they would have rebadged it as a buick grand national and changed the body a little to suit it. 460hp Buick would have been a great successor/reincarnation.

yeah the LT1 seems to be a great engine, the startup sound is amazing!
i should have gotten a SS years ago, instead of all the coyote mustangs i had.
really fortunate i did find the one i have now, pretty rare to find one like that currently.

One of my neighbors down the road is one of those people.. I fear it was my fault!

She has the 4 banger and whenever we pass by each other we roll down our windows because of course we do we both have 6th gen Camaros. She always says that she's jealous of my SS and the V8 sounds (she gets to hear my car startup quite a bit!). I'm always trying to make her car sound cool too because I really don't want her to feel bad about her purchase. I mean, it's still a 6th gen Camaro, which is just a plain good car.

Indeed it is a great car in any trim.

I actually had the LGX for a short while in a 2LT, which was the fully loaded non-V8 trim in that model year, so I'm speaking from experience. It drove fine and everyhing was all right until I sadly realized it had no torque (okay, I'm exaggerating, but you know what I mean). Traded it in to order a 2SS, and I was grinning ear to ear already on the first drive home, and even more later. Especially with these mods I'm running now, heh.

Just curious but what makes you like the SS more than the GT Mustangs you had? Is it just simply the sound, torque and chassis? Were any of your Mustangs 2018+?

In this order of performance:
1. C7 Corvette Grand Sport (Z07 package)
2. C8 stingray Corvette Z51
3. 6th gen Camaro SS1LE
4. 6th gen Camaro SS

yeah I had a 20 GT, 23 GT and a 25 GT, not much difference on the 25 from the others except for the screens.
the SS just is a more serious sports car, much better seating position, I have recaros also, better engine torque, louder startup sound, more precise steering, brembos on all 4 corners, looks like it is put together better, hood gaps etc.
gets more attention than mustangs, has a much better chassis, the alpha chassis. the heads up display, the sunroof, better stereo sound, no auto engine stop start button, there is probably more reasons i will think of later.

Thanks and all those things you listed make sense aside from the seating position as that one I would consider subjective. I’m actually looking to move back into a mustang so that’s why I was asking. Never had a coyote or modular 4 valve and I’m getting the itch to try something new.
