Tall Driver w/ Helmet: Seat Lowering, Cut Headliner, or Other Ideas?
I have been wanting to get into track driving for a long time, but I am 6'4" and with a helmet my options are quite limited.
I just sat in a 2020 2SS 1LE and loved it. With a helmet, and the seat all the way down and slightly reclined, I think I have about 1/4 to 1/8" between the top of the helmet and the headliner. If I slightly elongate my neck, it touches immediately. I am concerned that on a bumpy track its going to get annoying with my head hitting the roof. I searched this forum, and there have been a few threads on seat lowering, but nothing with a real solution. Most of the threads are pretty old though. Has anyone come up with a solution for getting another 1/2" or 1" of headroom in the SS1LE. I am willing to consider anything that anyone has direct experience of success with. Thanks! |

My helmet seat position is also lower than standard. My understanding is that helmets without vent slots / venting are thinner, but never bothered to confirm.
