Help with transmission part ID

Hi all

I have a 2018 1SS 1LE, 6 sp Manual.

I'm looking into replacing the bell housing, but before we can get that far I am not sure which exact model # variant of the manual transmission I have.

Any one know how to ID this part?

Just go to Chevy and get a quote from the parts department. They will use your vin and get the correct part number for your specific car.

Its a TR6060 transmission.

What did you do to the bell housing?

I have welded bell housings before. Mine is A10, so don't know if yours is aluminum or not. But any good welding shop might be able to repair it. Might be a bit less expensive.

Ok thanks very much.

Here's a picture of the issue too. I've been told that welding would be just as difficult as replacing the bell housing since it would still need to come down and be flushed before welding could be done.

I'm sorry, I did mean that it should be removed before welding. With all the control modules in todays cars, welding can cause failures in their circuitry.

Are the dowels missing? Or maybe that bolt was used to pull the transmission to the engine on install?
Its an odd location for a stress crack.

Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone make an SFI-rated replacement bellhousing for this transmission?

You would have to replace the end plate on the trans, swapping it for one that a bellhousing could bolt to. That means re-shimming the shafts on the trans. Then you would buy a steel bellhousing. BTW, you will have to do the same if you replace an integrated bellhousing with front plate. The shim pack will change.

Talk to one of the well known 6spd shops. They can either sell you the parts or do it for you.
