need tires
I've been getting my tires from Tire Rack and usually stay with the Supercar 3's, but the rears are out of stock with no estimate on arrival from Goodyear.
So, I've used Michelin PS4S's before and I liked them. But, the test I read on Tire Rack's site raved about the Conti Extremecontact Sport 02's, and I'm leaning towards giving them a try. Thoughts from those who have used both?

I have Nitto R555R2's and they hooked great on the street, hit clover leaf's on the free way at higher than expected speed, 50mph, 60mph. Very low road noise too. Cold weather they don't hook like any other tire, but nice weather they were great! Then I got to a bigger rwhp, and ended up with Weld beadlocks with Mickey Thompson ET Street R's and they HOOOOK ! great in good weather!

Hi ZX, I have a little of 2K miles on the Conti ExtremeContact 02s. I really like them. They are not like the SC3's but they are responsive. I also live in FL and wanted something that worked well in the rain. The Continentals live up to my expectation. You can push them and they feel secure. The ride is quiet but not like you are riding on marshmallows. I think you will be satisfied the Continentals for street driving.

PS4S is the standard for ~300tw summer tires but Conti, Pirelli and GY all have comparable tires these days, you can't go wrong with any of them.

I really like the Yokohama Advan Apex V601. They are really good tires that warm up quick. They work very well in the rain (I've been 100+mph) and they are very confidence inspiring. I've had them to 170mph in the dry. I run my cold pressures at 30-32psi in the Summertime, and 28-30psi in the winter. You can find these on Tirerack for about $1,200 for the entire set. |

It looks like Discount Tire has the OEM sizes in stock for the GYSC3.
FWIW I did not like the MPS4S and switched back to the GYSC3. The sidewall is much softer than the GY and it lost a lot of the front end feel the car has at the limit. It just felt soft and disconnected. A lot more understeer too. IMO That said they were quiet, comfortable, and it was nice not hearing rocks pelt the side of my car. But I didn’t buy it for any of that, so GYSC3 it is for me. I am curious about the Continental ECS though.

I have used all three on the track. Supercar 3's, Michelin PS4S's, Conti Extremecontact Sport 02's. Of course, the Supercar 3 wear fastest. The Extremecontact Sport 02 wear much slower with about the same performance. Of course, your experience will vary depending on your skill level and driving style. I use the PS4s on high speed open road races, such as Silver State Classic Challenge (125 mph class with 138.72mph trap speed) and Nevada Open Road Challenge (140mph class and 158.01mph trap speed). The PS4's have a higher load rating which is suggested for open road racing.
These cars love the track and open road. PS 40 track days and two open road races |
