How many miles did your clutch last?

Just curious what sort of life people are getting out of their stock clutches. I realize this will vary significantly depending on driver/use case, but still would be interesting information.

I'm at 20,000KM, so obviously it's still perfectly fine. I would imagine these things with regular driving should last well beyond 100,000KM (62,000 Miles), right?

Curious if that's in line with what others experience.

The aftermarket clutch in my 4th gen had a reported issue with throwout bearings, and mine did have that issue right at the mileage others reported to have it at. I can't imagine our stock clutch has a defect like that, but if others are have had that issue, would also be nice to know.

BUMP - LGX MT at almost 72K. My last manual was an accord which I drove hard and it left me stranded in the side of the road at about 100K. Anyone have to replace their clutch on the V6 and if so at what mileage did you have to do it? Also what does that job run $$$ wise?

My throwout bearing starting to fail at 8k miles... 1/2 of those miles making 800rwtq... Clutch looked ok, but upgrading to the Monster Triple S anyway... with upgraded billet throwout bearing support.

I wanted to ask. A few days ago, I drove aggressively when leaving my house; it was like a quick acceleration that lasted a couple of seconds, with my SS, and a lot of smoke came out, and the smell of burnt clutch was strong. The gears became difficult to shift, so I parked it again. It only has 34,500 miles. Has this happened to anyone before, and was it just the smell and the smoke? Maybe the disc is burned or crystallized? Will I need a new replacement kit? Thank you!

Sounds like the you may have melted the plastic throw out bearing carrier support... I did the same thing :(

Definitely going to need to pull the transmission and replace some things.
Ive got 107k on my stock parts but I'm a very seasoned manual driver.

If your disc is having trouble holding then the slip will cause a lot of heat that will get transferred other parts. Like your throw out bearing. If that melts then it starts to bind which makes the situation even worse because now it's slightly holding the pressure plate even tho your pedal is released.
That situation can also come from slightly holding the clutch pedal in while doing a burnout or any other aggressive launching.
You can USUALLY feel the loss of throw out bearing functionality in the pedal. It wont come back up or it will come back up really slowly.

Pull the trans with the intention of replacing all of the clutch components and the rear main seal. If the throwout bearing got hot enough to melt then the rear main seal probably got pretty hot as well.
