Broken clutch pressure plate

I installed a ZL1 clutch in my 600 WHP SS, thinking I'd overbuild it for reliability. The clutch lasted something like 7 or 8 track days and while at COTA it started not fully disengaging. At times it would be fine, and other times not. Turns out there were two broken pins, sheared off floating around inside the pressure plate. Kind of interesting and thought I'd share. Thought it might be a fluid issue at first, the intermittent issue kinda threw me for a while. Definitely surprised at what I found when I tore it apart. Wasn't even in there long enough to get dust on it!!

where did these come from? I don't see it in your photo.
Pressure plate mechanism?
They don't look like they sheared, so I don't understand how they got loose.
The friction disc looks like it can be reused.

There are six of those pins, the tops of which are circled. Only 4 are left in the inside. They attach to those metal "springs" or whatever they're called that the slave cylinder pushes on.

Really lucky something catastrophic didn't happen with those pins flying around in there!

Those springs look like they serve the same purpose as hub springs, also known as cushion or damper springs. Typically these springs are part of the friction plate. They absorb some of the impact of engagement torque.
Here they are part of the pressure plate.
I would submit a warranty claim for this.
