Battery Drain Due to Infotainment System

So i left my car for 2 weeks (2017 camaro ss) and started it after, clicked but didn’t start, jumped it and didn’t work either
Changed the Battery and it started well, drove it
Next morning the new battery was dead
Apparently the infotainment system wasn’t shutting off when the car was off
The screen backlight and home button was still on even though the car was off
Scanned the car and found 2 codes
C0760-03
U15F3-00

This drains the battery overnight so everytime i switch the car off i have to disconnect the negative terminal
Any idea’s how to fix this issue
The car drives fine except the battery drains overnight cause the infotainment screen backlight stays on while the car is off

Do you leave the key in it?

The first code looks to be related to tpms
The second code is the human interface module lost communication to the navigation module.

If it were me, i would start off with by clearing all the codes in all the modules and drive around the block and park it. Let it sit for about 10 mins and see if the problem is still there and if any codes have returned.

Yes i leave the key in it
But from the windows i can see that the infotainment system is still on
But here’s the strange part, i disconnected the HMI module and saw the screen turn off
However the blue light around the power button of the infotainment system didn’t turn off

Take the key out and lock it and see if the lights go out. Pretty much set it up to let the modules go to sleep

Mine has been sitting unlocked for about 3 days. I just went to the garage without my key and turned the radio on. Waited, then turned it off. The cluster went off, then the ambient lights along with the blue power button, the infotainment screen stopped displaying anything but was still on. Then a few seconds later it went off.

I did this just so you had an order of operation to compare with on yours.

try unplugging the radio and see if the battery still drains

Yep it drains
I unplugged the whole HMI module
All the plugs behind the screen
The only plug that is powering the buttons is still getting power from somewhere while everything is off, i really need some help

I've had this happen before on my car a couple times. I would shut the car off and close the door. Come back into the garage an hour later and notice a faint glow from inside the Camaro. Yep the LCD screen is dark, but I can see the screen LCD backlight alone is lit up. Turns out that most of the car is still awake with dash lights off and it drains 300mA or so.

Sometimes one or more the modules will get stuck in a fault mode (CEL requested) and never go to sleep. The fault code can even be false, triggered by low battery voltage, and yeah that means it can be an endless loop of faults draining the battery creating faults that drain the battery. Good times.

My solution, after some trial and error, goes like this:
1. Disconnect the battery for 10-30 minutes.
2. Reconnect the battery, wait 30 seconds to a minute for all the modules to wake up, relays to click on and click back off.
3. Get in the car and hold the start button for 5 seconds with foot OFF the brake pedal. If the car starts, you did it wrong.
4. This wakes up the car into service mode Key-on. Wait another 10-20 seconds to let "things" do what they need to do.
5. Plug in an OBD2 scan tool and clear any codes.
6. Attempt to start the car.
7. If the car cranks for 0.1sec and quits, then go back to step 1 and start over. This is a glitch I see from time to time and I consider it some goofy race condition between modules still sleepy from their long nap.
8. If the car starts, it may or may not throw a CEL light again. If it does, read them and clear them again.
9. Car should be good now, but to double check, shut the car back off. Get out close the door. Wait 30 seconds, get back in and start it up again.
10. If there's no codes and it starts up normally it should be good from here on in, as long as your battery doesn't go low voltage again.

Mine is a show/weekend car that's not regularly driven so I have a cheapo old-school knife switch battery disconnect to prevent drains, and I keep a tender on the disconnected battery full time. So my normal startup routine starts at step #2. And maybe one time in ten it won't wake up happy and I have to do the clear codes/restart thing. I chalk it up to a 1st model year software glitch.

I have a friend that had a similar issue, but it wouldn't drain the battery as fast. I am only repeating what I heard, but he did keep having battery issues. Took it to the dealer, and the battery plugs into a small box or some smaller 'fuse box type', that is what was bad and had to be replaced. There was a huge backorder for it but he did get it in a couple weeks, it did resolve the issue. His battery was not dying overnight, but it sounds like it could be related. No battery issues since he replaced that small box. I think his is a 2018.

Well i tried the options but still didn’t work
The car has been sitting in the garage for a month now
Apparently the radio/steering wheel controls keep getting power from somewhere or something that is not able to turn it off which is very strange
Any idea’s on radio buttons draining the battery?
If i unplug the whole HMI module, the screen turns off but the button blue light still stays on
However when plugging the HMI back i removed the plug behind the screen which powered the buttons and turned the screen and buttons off
But i don’t know what it may be
