Kudos to those that daily their camaros

Just like the title says...... I'm doing an engine swap in the Avalanche so I have daily my Camaro. 2 thing.....:
1. How do you guys not get a ticket every day?
2. I will never do an engine swap again. Long gone are the days of pull out a 305 and drop in a 350.Things use to be so simple. Anyway back to the reason for the post.... I have been daily driving my Camaro the past 2 weeks and if it wasn't for my radar detector I would have lost my license by now. just can't seem to keep my foot out of the pedal. Needless to say I need to get my truck back on the road and ASAP.

If you don't daily your car, what are the circumstances you do drive it?

I have the same problem only I am retired. Every time I get the Camaro out I can't help thinking I am in Mexico somewhere. They say you revert to your childhood as you get older, I guess that's why I like to play with all that power. It is a lot of fun.

My '23 was a daily driver up until 3 months ago. Man did I have so much fun everyday. The sound of those blurps and burbles always gets a giggle out of me. You're never too old

I have acquired a taste for not pushing the car hard yet enjoying it in every corner, or doing lane changes, or pulling away from a light, you get the picture. Of course, when the road opens up, so does the pedal often, and it's glorious.

If I DD my car it wouldn't be fun anymore. It would be more like routine or a job. Instead it's like a dessert that I'm only allowed to enjoy during the nice sunny weather mainly half the year. I appreciate it more like this. Besides, my track exhaust would get old pretty quick

My biggest problem with this car is how easy it is to gain speed when getting through highway traffic.

With five speeding tickets in six years my insurance rates are a real problem.

When it's nice out...when it's time to go on a rally run...car shows...when I feel like livin' life a 1/4 mile at a time! I already drive like a lunatic in my DD modded vdub...if I drove the Z everyday I'd be in jail.....

I daily mine right now (literally). My habits are fairly lightweight though. Work is about 10 minutes or less, driveway to parking lot. I live near a highway so a lot is highway cruising.

That said, I'll be ramping up campaigning my car at the strip starting this fall. It's going to get old real quick swapping the car back and forth from street/strip trim.

Over the winter I'll be getting a trailer and tow vehicle and the tow vehicle will likely be my daily and I'll leave the car in strip trim most of the time.

I daily mine and I never get tired of it. I have driven my wife’s car during inclimate weather and miss my car almost immediately. When I get back in it I feel like I hadn’t driven it for months when it’s only been a few days.

Also... Big Sad for me, no one ever wants to race me.

I'm doomed to be humbled by the 1000hp guys.

Back to the OPs question, I track it on road courses to let the beast out.

Spend 1 or 2 days of a weekend at the track (high G turns and repeated WOT acceleration to >125mph), and you'd be amazed how long that fun carries over to not feeling the urge while driving on public roads.

I know that here on this forum we are probably a mix of enthusiasts for straight-line acceleration vs windy roads. But if you haven't done a road course HPDE event before, you owe it to yourself to take your Camaro to one and give it a try. The thrill you get from controlling something near/at the limit of tire adhesion going around a high speed corner can not be easily replicated. Anyone with an SS or above can do this with a bone stock car, just by upgrading their brake fluid.
