Walmart GY Supercar 3

So Tire Rack says that the 305/30/20 Supercar 3's are currently out of stock with no delivery date from the mfr. I start shopping around and came across this from Walmart.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Goodyear-...Tire/172020054

$100 cheaper per tire than Tire Rack. Specs are the same but am a little hesitant. Not sure if I should buy them? Could it be old date codes?

Couldn't resist so I pulled the trigger. Worst case, I'll just return them.

They are the same Goodyear SC3's, so really doesn't matter where you buy them. Maybe they are old date codes, but that's always a concern anywhere you buy tires. Check the date codes I guess, but I wouldn't have an issue buying them from WalMart.

I'd probably bring the wheels and not the car, R&R the wheels at home.

Great price, but yes, I was also thinking date codes. They're being delivered tomorrow, it seems that one of their local warehouse has them in stock. I'll wind up taking them to my local tire shop once I receive the fronts.

Thanks man. Can't wait to install them. I currently have the Conti Sport 02's. I don't daily the car anymore so I decided to make the switch. They look so much more aggressive.

Walmart usually has their own builds of popular tires i.e. you can't take them to another tire dealers for warranty work. And the last time got tires there the kid monkeyed up my rims.

Depends on what you're going to use them for. If tracking, I would want them to be within about a year so that they are fresh.

Street driving, I'd be OK with up to 3 years old when buying a new tire. But, for street, it also matters how quickly you think you'll wear them out. If it's a very low miles per year garage queen and you plan to have the car a long time, the tires will age out before they wear out. About 10-12 years is generally considered a safe life for tires that are on a car that is garaged when not being driven.

Have they been delivered yet? This seems like a killer deal.

Something is not kosh. The label says it's from "Return Center" somewhere in PA. Tread seems a little low for new tires, might even be used. Not sure what to think here. Outer has about 4/32 and inner has about 6/32. Tires feel a little spongy, they might even be used.

According to Goodyear's site, tread depth should be 7/32...
