Brake pads 2023 camaro 2ss (non 1le) help
Can someone point me in the right direction on the part number for the stock oem brembo pads front and rear for the camaro 2ss? I have the regular 4 piston front.
Not sure where to buy at. Pads need changed at 21k miles already, geesh. Dealership wants to charge me 1k for just the front pads and rotors. Not sure I need rotors with only 21k miles Any recommended places to purchase? thanks! |

Do you want the Brembo Pads (if you track the car) or do you want the much lower dust (and longer lasting) PowerStop Z26 Pads (if you only street drive the car)? https://www.amazon.com/Power-Z26-147.../dp/B00Z6LM73G Those are the fronts, here are the rears... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Z6LMNBW

Thank you so much for the quick reply man, im highly considering the powerstop pads, i don't track but do enjoy spirited drives, how would you compare them to the brembo pads? Will only stop quick in an emergency, are they pretty comparable?

At that point I was done with them and replaced all four corners with factory pads/rotors. The car felt brand new again. Go with the Brembo pads. Let the wheels turn black from brake dust. You can clean the wheels and they will be fine. At least your car will stop properly. -Ray |

I have 2017 2SS as my daily driver (not tracked) and I put about 5000 mi/yr on the car.
I much prefer the powerstop pads. Braking performance feels equivalent to me. I had no noise with either the stock semi-metallics or the powerstop ceramics. I changed the fronts in 2019, which was easy. Did the rears in 2024 and all 4 rear pads were cemented in the calipers by brake dust, meaning they were not freely movable as intended. The brake dust created by semi-metallic pads is higher in iron content, and basically stickier when it interacts with moisture. That's why you need acid-based products to clean it off your wheels. I live in coastal New Jersey. If you are in coastal FL it will probably be the same. Now if you burn through your brakes every two years, it won't matter. I typically get about 80,000 miles out of rear brakes. |

Z26 for the win, but reuse your factory clips and hardware. I love not having to scrub my calipers and wheels constantly. Stopping is just fine for street use.
