front subframe alignment
Has anyone centered their front subframe? My L vs R camber is pretty unbalanced if both maxed out. Looking at the mounts I can see, it appears the subframe is slightly shifted one way and that makes sense given the camber available. I do wonder if .2-.3º of camber is worth the hassle.
edit: I've since had the car realigned and everything turned our normal. Not sure what was going ont, but it has resolved itself. Last edited by sgreer78; 08-22-2025 at 02:54 PM. |

This is an interesting question. I was unable to get the poke on my front tires even despite having the same camber each side and adjusting the knuckle and camber plates differently on each side. Car handles great, straight as an arrow and stable even up to 150mph.
I've had the subframe loosened up before when I was doing the engine swap, and it's hard to imagine it being possible to misalign it, but definitely has me thinking now. |

I've seen aftermarket subframe centering collars for other applications. I don't know if any are available for a 6th gen Camaro.

Same, but seems like it evened out when I had the alignment shop weight the drivers side for the driver. What is your L/R camber? Also there is probably some engineering for the car driving on the right side of the road and the slight crown for drainage. I remember this living in Australia when the US spec wheel hubs caused the jeeps to pull even with correct alignment because of drive on the left over there.
