Where Did It Go?

I bought a Range AFM several years ago. I remember before installing it, there was an indicator on the dash that showed "V4" or "V6" depending on the driving conditions.

It's time for the first "smog test" and I need to remove the device so they can do the test. I wasn't sure if, after removing the device, I would have to drive the car a certain number of miles/cycles to set the ECU for diagnostics. I know if you replace the battery, you cannot immediately do a smog test. I called Range and they said, "NO, just unplug the AFM and drive it to the test station."

I unplugged the AFM and drove around for a bit, but I'm just now noticing there is no V4/V6 indicator on the dash! I have not driven much, so I'm not sure if it is switching between the 2 now.

Where did the indicator go? What am I missing?

Thanks!!

The Range AFM would be an on/off situation. If you have it plugged in, AFM is off. As soon as you unplug it, AFM is on. It doesn't need to run through any cycles or anything to turn on/off. As Capt said, flip to the Fuel Economy screen to see the indicator. Otherwise, it doesn't show up.

YES! (Of course!) It's been so long since I looked for it, I forgot that it isn't always visible. It's not specifically mentioned in the Owner Manual that I could find.

THANKS!
