Hello all, I have recently bought a 2022 LT1 Camaro and I want to upgrade the tires, I have been researching to find exactly what I need but the more I researched the more I got confused.I know what tire combination i want(SS 1LE tire combination 315/30/20 rear
275/30/20 front) but I was not sure if it will fit on the stock wheels? A yes or no answer will be appreciated . Thanks |

No.
To get the setup you’ll need the following 275/35R20 tire on a 20x9.5 rim with offset around 20/25 315/30R20 tire on a 20x11.5 rim with offset 43

First off, SS1LE do not run 315/30/20 on rears, on the fronts 20x10 +23 offset 285/30/20, rears 20x11 +43 offset 305/30/20, as that's the exact spec's I have for my Vertini and US Mags wheels, If you want to run 275/35/20 fronts, 315/35/20 rears just make sure you run the 1LE rim spec size, perfect fit. Just be careful with the 315/35/20 on the rears as you'll probably need to relocate the wiring harness in the left rear wheel housing. |

I've upgraded from the stock SS wheels (20x8.5 & 20X9.5) to MRR017 SS 1LE Replicas at 20X10.0 & 20X11.0 and am currently running SS 1LE tire sizes (285/30/20 & 305/30/20) which is working fine but when it comes time for new tires I'm going to go to 275/35/20 & 315/30/20 which will be nearly identical height to my stock SS (non-1LE) tire diameters plus give me just a little bit more out back... I'm currently running Atturo AZ850's and have been extremely happy with them, however I live in San Diego so this is a warm weather, no rain whatsoever car, but so far they have been great and very affordable... Just to be clear, your stock LT1 wheels are both 8.5" wide, there is no way a 315 can fit on their safely (even a 275 would be beyond the recommended wheel width)... You really need 10" wheels up front and 11" wheels out back to do what you want to do...

Keep in mind if you track the car your brakes are not designed to handle the TW even with track pads. Street driving be OK but you can cook your brakes.

These cars squat especially on sticker tires, and that is when your wire harness becomes a casualty. This also applies to tracking the car in high speed turns.

Use this as a base line. You can go up to 1LE tire sizes as LT1's do not have 6 piston front brakes and those dimensions account for 6 piston front brake systems. Furthermore, it also accounts for the wire harness which does not have to be moved with the 1LE setup set as a maximum baseline. Anything beyond that depending on what you do with the car may require spacers, or moving the wire harness. I personally run, 20x11 ET43 rears with 305/35R20 Nitto555R2's, and 20x10 ET20 fronts with 285/35R20 Atturo AZ850 fronts. I also had to move the wireharness on the rear driver side because I do take my car to the drag strip. You will also need to change the wheel size in the ECM to account for the proper diameter range as not doing so will effect your Speedometer, ABS and Traction Control Systems (If using my setup) I have to set the ECM to 28.14" for my setup. When I swap back to my winter wheels (Stock wheels and tire sizes 245/40R20 and 275/35R20) I have to change the ECM to 27.65" I believe the stock LT1's come with 245/40R20 and 275/35R20 tires.

Moving the wire harness is super easy...

I just did the wiring harness relocation on my SS that's running 1LE spec wheels and tires, with the 305's in the back.
On a handful of occasions I felt a very brief, hard bump when taking a right hand corner "spiritedly". I thought it might be something in my trunk, but after reading about this on the forum, I looked at the felt liner in the LR wheel well and found that there had been some rubbing. You definitely don't want that harness getting crushed. But, if you don't drive the car too hard and don't feel anything, maybe you don't need to worry about it.

Y'all thank you for the replies, this definitely helps me out, as some folks pointed out, more information is need, I currently have the stock tires and wheels(245/40R20 all round), nothing has been done to the car, it is stock. Also thanks for the correction on the wrong rear tire size,I mentioned 315 but that's incorrect. I don't track or go to drag strip but I do a lot of "spirited driving"
