I broke the differential in my 2017 SS a8

The replacement arrived but doesn't have provisions for cooling lines. Can I just loop those? It's a street car that might see the strip, but will never run a circle track.

I bought a new one from GM for a direct replacement for what I broke. Trying to understand what models did not have the differential cooling? I thought all SS models came with the rear diff cooling. I would think if it was something that was there previously, you would want that on the replacement. Sorry I can't give you an answer, but like I said I think you would want the extra cooling?

The SS convertibles don’t have differential cooling.

LT1 model doesn't have a diff cooler.

I'm kinda surprised a non-1LE SS has diff cooler.....that being said, loop the lines, complete the circuit. Capping them would be bad.

EDIT: I checked the VIN on my bro in law's old 2018 SS, yep, it had the diff cooler.

The standard SS was also considered a track ready car by Chevy and warrantied on track. The LT1 is the one that Chevy does not consider track ready out of the box.

Agreed. The SS also has the two auxiliary radiators and a dedicated transmission cooler as well.
