Is this normal on my LT1?

When looking at other engine bays on here and online this part is usually tucked in or not visible besides the tube that runs to it. Unsure what it is and can’t find a diagram that shows what this part is. Just trying to see if this is normal or not! Thank you for any advice/knowledge!

I assume that you bought your car used, that what you have circled is what appears to be a flex fuel sensor meaning that you can run your car on E85 providing that it was tuned after the sensor was installed.

No that's not normal. But if it's flex fuel then you got a cool plus for buying the car. Hopefully it works correctly and is actually tuned for it, if that's how this works? I don't have flex fuel so IDK much about it. Anyone know how exactly the OP would confirm he can dump E into the tank? It has to be tuned for it correct?

I would find a way to check the tune before I dump any E in it for sure.

There is a sending wire that routes from the sensor to a wire bank under the fuse box in the engine. If you are able to confirm that it is pinned into that connector, the install part of it is done. Then you'd have to confirm if your car is tuned and if the sensor has been activated in the tune table.

If your car does not go into 4 cyl mode, you are tuned.

Your car has been modified and tuned. Someone performed a rookie flex fuel sensor install.

You can rest assured that your car has been thoroughly performance tested in the past.

Ouch.

@OP I would listen to this guy ^ - he knows his shit. Might be worth getting in touch with him and see if anything you have needs to be unf*cked.

Yeah that's an ugly install. But it's a flex fuel sensor for E-85

Looks like the previous owner had cable/internet installed and the tech didn't do such a good job (come on, doesn't it look a little like a splitter installed on a co-ax line? )

I wouldn't know what a flex fuel sensor is, but if the car's been tuned by a previous owner, doesn't that mean that the engine is no longer under warranty?

Funny, all the installer had to to was rotate the sensor 180 deg to the left so that the white part was belly down.
