23 LT1 Cuts off at stops and will not recrank

Several weeks back, I did a pull and at the end the car acted like it want to cutoff. It did not stop, but when I got to the end of the road, it did cut off and almost did not start. Slow drag start, but it did start. Got it home and everything seemed fine.
Over the next couple of drives, it did continue to slow start.
We go out for a date night, park and go in to eat. When we come out, the car would not start. Had to be jumped. On the way home, it cut off at a stop sign and had to be jumped again.
Drove the car to the dealership and they had to jump it to start it. Discussed the heat soak issue and they changed the starter. This was one week ago.

Since the starter change out, the car has cutoff three times....at stop signs or backing into parking places and has to be jumped to crank.

Also, the car is getting way less gas mileage than it was before this started. Drove the car to Camaro Fest in 23 and got 30 miles per gallon. The best I can get now is 23 MPG....

Any ideas would help!!

Not throwing any codes? I wouldn't suspect the starter with what youve described. Battery tested? It's new but batteries on these cars cause all sorts of weird symptoms if it's bad.

i would second the battery. i've gotten some really weird symptoms on an old battery. might be worth tossing a new one in, even if your original isn't that old.

Inspect the fusible links inside the battery terminal block as well as the one up front near the jump posts. If they form hairline cracks you can get intermittent bad behavior.

Do you have a carbon pile battery tester? You can put a load on battery and see if it will sustain amps. Do the lights go dim as you drive before it dies? Can also check alt. Should put out about 13.9 to 14.7 volts. But it sounds as a battery issue. You said she is a 23. Did it sit on lot all this time with no tender?

Did the dealer printout give you their diagnostic report?
I would suspect they did some battery testing before replacing the starter.
This could be a lot of things including (expensive) control modules.
If you own a voltmeter you could do some quick analysis of the battery and charging system, but if you need battery, alternator, etc. this car is still under warranty.

Bad alternator or failing battery would be my first guess. Or loose connections on the battery or fuse blocks.

Dropped the car off at Rick Hendricks in North Charleston on Friday 1/17. But, I did not drop it off. It had to be towed...on the way, it cut off in an intersection and would not crank. Waited around 15 minutes and it finally fired off and was able to get it out of the intersection before it cut off again.
I understand we have had a winter storm, but I had not heard from the dealership. Called today and was informed they were getting GM involved. They can't figure it out!
Oh Well......we will see!!

This is sounding more likely. These can be hard to find. probably why they are getting GM involved.

Picked the car up 2/25/2025 after a call into the Service Manager. They claimed it to be fixed...

1. Replaced the ECM
2. Replaced the Cam Position sensor
3 Replaced the battery.

Got the car home and drove it a couiple of times, with no issue. Yesterday ( 3/13/25 ) we drove it for date night. On the way home, I gassed it to get around a car and after the pass the car did not act right.
Got to the post office and it cut off as I pulled in. Had to jump it to start. Got to the highway and it cut off again. Would not crank this time, but had a bad melting smell coming form under the hood.

Pushed it into the parking lot and left it for the night. Got up this morning and Cheverlet Road Assistent and had it picked up and sent back to the dealership.....

Can't trust this car any longer.......
