I'd be so pissed off.

I hope the owner was made whole.

I don't have a ZL1 but this is the nightmare and dillema I face whenever I take my SS to a shop. I try to concentrate most of my car work to a few shops I know and trust because they work in these cars for a living but once in awhile I have to venture to a Discount Tire or Firestone and I know that someone may want to 'play' with it.

This is more common than you think. In my town, when the Viper trucks came out, a porter took one on a joy ride and launched it into a house. One of our friends bought a new Viper about ten years ago. As the paperwork was being finalized, a porter took the car to fill it up. The porter got sideways, hit the curb and took out a bunch of parked cars.

Are you able to learn to most of the Maintenace yourself?

never let them test drive it without you in it....i make this clear before they start the work....it also helps i can hear my car start anywhere in the dealer...i only use 1 dealer and for an alignment at that...i do all my own work...this happening to any of my hobby cars might just make me homicidal...
