Non raspy sounding exhaust
Does anyone make a deep, non raspy sounding axle back exhaust for a 6th Gen Camaro? I love the sound of the ARH exhaust but they do not offer it for a 6th Gen.

Give a listen to Stainless Works "Legend Series" mufflers. They have a really high quality sound Youtube video of sound clips of their product on several configurations both just muffler swap and the same muffler with catback pipes and another with their LTH's so you really get a nice idea what they sound like. Stainless Works are also some of the most fairly priced for NPP mufflers. Fit & finish was flawless, you can do it in your driveway in an hour or two.
I have the Redline Series. They are nice and deep but have a small rasp right around 3k/rpm which is typical in that range. After that it's pure NASCAR. But I wish I had gotten the Legend Series since I'm catless. The Legend would have cut that last bit of rasp out and still thump & scream. My next exhaust modification will either be a custom H pipe which will further eliminate rasp or get that fancy double X mid pipe but I'm not sure if it's more gimmick than anything. They say the double X enhances the deep throaty sound but I haven't done enough research and listening videos to see if deep throaty is actually just raspy with a deeper tone. A "H" pipe doesn't flow as well up top, but doesn't rasp out like a traditional "X". I know going to an H will be a good move for me, but I am curious about the double X.

Borla S-Type is even less raspy than stock exhaust and has a deeper tone. It sounds great.

AWE Touring is my personal favorite right now. Get the resonated catback with xipipe. Nice smooth and deep growl that rips at WOT. I'm coming from Corsa NPP. I loved the Corsa sound at WOT, but the valves began rattling and the exhaust started sounding raspier and raspier after a while.
Once you go catless, these cars have an inherent rasp to them. SOme guys like the obnoxiously loud "catless, muffler delete" approach, but to me that sounds bad and only that driver enjoys listening it to it. |

I have the Stainless Works Legend series cat-back on my 22SS and there is way less "raspiness" in the exhaust tone.

If you want zero rasp, the Borla S-Type will deliver.

I'm sure there's some level of subjectivity when it comes to exhausts, not only how we hear different frequencies but how we also describe them. YouTube videos also don't fully capture the differences and overall they sound more similar than dissimilar. There's so many combos and preferences out there so to me it's one of those things with exhausts that you (figuratively) might need to go through a couple to find the right balance of tone and sound. Most people just recommend what they have (me included). I would even say the AWE Touring is opposite of raspy, and the reason I'm switching to it. With that said, I likely wouldn't have switched if my Corsa valves didn't start rattling. Many have said that Corsa is raspy, which I don't disagree, but it sounds like a racecar and at WOT at the track there's nothing like it. Others have sworn that LT Headers with stock suitcase is so good, but to me it sounded tinny and not the sound I was looking for. MBRP sounds good at idle and low revs to me, but it sounds harsh and the typical straight pipe car (which is inherently raspy a bit, which I noted above) when driven more aggressively. It's also very droney and has a rusty feel/look to it. Time will tell. If I don't like it, I plan on keeping the Corsa anyway (and fix the valves) so I can always revert...or try the next combo

Borla S or Corsa NPP sound great. I've had them both. ARH does make a gen 6 exhaust but you need to buy their headers and x pipe to go with it. It does not have valves so it will always be in loud mode.

Best axleback for these cars is the AWE Touring, hands down. Super deep and aggressive growl.
Even after adding headers, I converted to the resonated catback touring and its still not raspy. Just a deep muscle car sound, exactly how I wanted. Its the deepest sounding exhaust I have ever heard for the Camaro. Don't let the name fool you though, its much louder than stock. Axleback only: Headers and full exhaust: https://youtu.be/Gn6_Dv6S1Lo
